Started watching Neagly on Prime. If you like Reacher you'll like this show as well.

All 8 episodes are available to watch.

We also watched episode 1 - easy to watch and, as you suggested, kinda Reacher Lite.

As for Reacher ... the season just ended and it was typically amusing/enjoyable. So much of it is over-the-top ridiculous, but that's part of the point, and Alan Ritchson continues to deliver his best lines perfectly. We laughed more during this season of Reacher than we did during several of the "comedies" nominated for Emmies, including The Bear and Widow's Bay.

I wasn't very optimistic about Ted Lasso after the first episode of this season, but it's really picked up the last few episodes.

It's much better than I expected. I do wish it would focus less on the Roy/Keeley dynamic and more on the team.

"Youth," the new Sharon Horgan series on HBO, is pretty damn funny.

Really enjoying "Lanterns," too. We're 4 episodes in, and we especially liked John's backstory in Ep 3.

Glad to hear it, but I don't think there was ever any doubt.  Horgan has been untouchable for a decade, especially if she's acting in it.  Catastrophe is still probably a top 3 British comedy of the last 20 years for me.  Bad Sisters was absolutely incredible.  And if you go back farther and a bit more properly British, her first series she created, Pulling, is hysterical.

Then stuff she didn't act in but created/wrote...I didn't get into it, but I know people loved Divorce on HBO, and I recently watched Motherland, a BBC show she did concurrently with Catastrophe, and it was excellent comedy as well.

I am not a DC/marvel kind of guy and rarely watch any superhero shows or movies. But I took advice from a couple people here on Scoop and started watching Lanterns.

Watched 1st 2 episodes last night and it was excellent - well worth the time.

I just saw the trailer of the new Elizabeth Holmes documentary.  Uhhhh.....WTF?  Those 2 mins were scarier than the Exorcist & The Shining combined.

Well, this looks absolutely bonkers.

I can't wait to watch the full film and compare, but even in the trailer, its fascinating how much her face/facial appearance changes from scene to scene.

Its obviously not from being heavily made up or physically changing her appearance, but almost how her facial posture, expressions, and posing changes things.  Sometimes she's decently attractive (usually when she's just "normal" like in the car), sometimes she's completely bizarre looking, its truly fascinating and clearly reflective of how bonkers she was/is and how she used herself to manipulate situations.  I've always thought her weird jaw heavy way of talking was an affectation and that certainly plays into all of this.

I will say, people will (and already have) jumped on her fiancee's comment about his family's wealth, but I don't think its that absurd.  He seems like a total mark and easily manipulated for myriad other reasons, but he's not wrong there.  His family owns 3 hotels/resorts in the SD area.  Certainly affluent and wealthy, but he's not a Marriott or a Hilton, he's not the Pritzkers, especially from his perspective when you're talking about his partner who was swindling herself into personal valuations 10-20x what Evans Hotels is probably worth, much less family bank accounts.

I have a friend that interviewed for Theranos about a year before the crap hit the fan.  She met Elizabeth Holmes  about halfway through the interview and went from being somewhat uncomfortable, to "extremely uncomfortable".  She wouldn't have taken the job regardless, but needless to say, instinctually knew something was wrong and way off about Holmes in particular.

Lanterns stuck their landing.  A fitting, understated, wrap up that both tied up the loose ends and set up the next season.  'Hero', by Michael Kiwanuka is going to be an earworm for quite a while.

For being a series about super heroes and a ring of power, there was surprisingly little super hero fighting and use of the ring for fighting.

It was fun. And interesting. Real good acting.

I started watching the old Perry Mason show. The first season started in September 1957.  I got hooked, not due to the murder mystery or courtroom drama, as I became fascinated with all the old cars and how each model year how the cars changed over time. I forgot how big these cars were. They featured mostly GM and Ford, but there was the occasional Imperial, Dodge or Plymouth. Too bad the the show is in Black and White as many of the models were two tone in color. The Ford Thunder Bird stood out for me and that is coming from a guy whose dad worked for GM. The one car I do remember is my dad's 59 Pontiac Bonneville. It was 18.5 ft long and the trunk was as big as the cargo area of my Honda Odyssey with the 3rd seat down. The white wall tires were an added touch on all the cars back then.

Apparently moviegoers chose The Other Mommy over The Social Reckoning this weekend.  By like a lot.  It's pretty interesting how well the Horror genre has done in recent years.

I don't remember horror films doing this well in the past.  And I also don't know what the other mommy actually does in The Other Mommy.

The Chucky franchise has done exceedingly well and I think the first film came out in '84?   Not everything is about your perceived cultural shift or this administration.  And horror doesn't always include heavy gore and slashing.  Child's Play had comedic elements that drew in viewers.  I think it's perhaps a quick feeling of escapism or quick thrills moviegoers enjoy.  I dunno.
