I watched brief parts of each segment from the link that Herman posted.  It was brutal.

I think it had more to do with the interviewer rather than the interviewee. I've seen some riveting interviews with old people.

A few episodes ago he had John Cary '73 on the show.  Cary was Allie's roommate in McCormick and the team manager from '70-73.  If you want to know how Al ticked, few knew better than Cary.

Damn, that was awesome.

Everyone do yourself a favor and watch this interview, starting around 4:30:

Thanks for sharing the video. I found that to be riveting, entertaining, enjoyable and a great watch. John Cary has knocked it out of the park throughout his career/life and getting his insight on Al was an A++++.

I responded because I thought you made a disrespectful comment about two good men. Was that not the case?

I'm going to wait with baited breath for the Sultan Explains It All MU and Beyond Youtube channel that he is launching this summer.

Not happening. Unlike Dodds, I have enough self-awareness to know when something is a dumb idea.

I would take MU out of the title. Placing MU in the title is way too restrictive for the host to share all of his insights on life.

In case the link for the John Cary interview did not work, Here it is again

It is incredible, and Mr. Dodds says they are going to bring him on the show some more.

Back in the day, I sat next to John Cary in Dr. Pick's English class in Marquette Hall. Several basketball players, Chones, Lackey, Spychalla, Frazier, and Ostrand, were also enrolled in the class. The final exam in December was scheduled for 8 am. About 20 minutes into the final, the TA came over to John and stated, "Frazier's not here. Here's a dime, go call him to get his ass over here."
Sure enough about 30 minutes later, George walked in to start the exam. Don't know if #50 was given additional time to complete the blue book exam or not, but I know he was never going to be there without John getting his ass outta bed, aina?

Nevada Smith spends a lot of time talking about the incoming players this week.       Sean Jones may be the fastest guy in the Big East.    Ross can guard 5 positions and is known for his ability to finish through contact.    Gold was projected as an Olympic level athlete and as a future All-Black rugby player before he grew to 6'10.    So used to physicality and fast for his size.    Wrightsil understand winning and will take on the leadership/mentor role.

In this episode, they were smart enough to let Coach Smith talk.

Tom Pipines is a good host doesn’t impose his thoughts on the guest and knows how to engage. Frankly if he was the sole host of the show it would be much better.

Dodds should be muzzled when they have a quality guest like Coach Smith. He has a strange way of answering his own question instead of letting the guest give a more detailed answer.

Yeah, he does try to steer the conversation off the bat.  What he needs to do is to hold those thoughts/questions for later in the conversation. But he is not a TV guy.

“Dodds’ show would be great if it didn’t include Dodds” is pretty damn funny.
