MU +1.5 vs Providence

I might just bet Providence here because winning some cash would be a nice consolation prize in the event MU lose.  My gut feels we may lose tomorrow, yet looking at Providence roster (even if Reeves is back), we just seem much more versatile offensively..and our defense travels.

What are other bettors thinking?

I'm in Reno for the weekend. I lost 500 today before I got half of it back. So, I'm still a loser. But I had fun. Who am I to give advice? Hmmmm.  Never mind. I'm thinking I shouldn't have bet Tsitsipas over Medvedev at the Aussie open since the Greek was 2-6 all time versus the Russian.

As for tomorrow, I'm thinking I probably shouldn't touch it with regards to the spread.

I sort of like the under if I were to bet- currently at 138,5. 

Per KenPom Providence is 56 defensively and MU is 22. Providence plays VERY slow at 286, that's substantially slower than Wisconsin this season.
Although MU plays very fast, Providence doesn't turn it over much and I don't think Marquette presses a ton so I can see a slower tempo.

Neither team has a top 50 offense.
It's a game that has been changed to a new day, very early in the morning, with a lot of distractions due to change in schedule and the storm.

Also, likely an extra day of film which means a smart coach- which both are very very smart (pun intended)- can spend some extra time scouting/game planning which I think favors better defense.

Final score will likely now be 92-88.

Eh.  I've bet against MU plenty of times, but I have a few cappers I get picks from, and it's more like investing in the market than anything else.  I losely check it daily, and I'm pretty confident that over time on sports betting I'll hit about 54-56%.  It never effects who I root for.  I've never trusted my own plays for pregame bets...but I do turn a slight profit, and have a ton of fun, live betting basketball.

Yeah...there are guys who still make some $ on ken pom vs the books.  It's 99% first half totals and in really low level conferences.  Covid has made those plays much more difficult.

  docspicks and all the others are online sports betting services.  many of them will give you a free abbreviated summary of many games as a marketing device to get one to subscribe to their more in depth analyses of games.  i use many of them as a cumulative adjunct to place some bets.  as for your snark, i'm sure he is for ALL lives as ALL people should be

  not sure where they are based out of, but they have a whole team of guys you can either subscribe separately or provide different points of view.  some have their sub-specialties.  there is a service out of madison however that i have subscribed to on and off called ASA(american sports analysts) run by mike merlet and lee someone.  i have spoken with mike a number of times and he is a great guy.  these services can be pretty good or ???  they have their good days and their bad days like most, but the amount of info they use is crazy.  within ASA, there are a number of guys they also use and provide separate services that one may specialize or do better in than another

He's not predicting anything.  That's what the numbers are predicting and that's pretty much a toss-up number on his site.

He has Marquette figured out pretty well, too.  They've risen steadily over the last month and his numbers have matched up with what our eyes show us.

It's a conference road game against a projected tourney team.  I'd say it's spot-on as a prediction goes.

But that's why they play the games.  I'd bet the other way on this one and take the Quette

kenpom may be very similar to odds shark as they are mainly a numbers thing.  right now they list MU as winning 73.6-68.8.  so if you are a numbers guy only, MU will win, cover the spread and the total will go over.  you make the call.  what it doesn't take into consideration are some of the nuance things like oh...intra team turmoil, one player sleeping with anothers main squeeze or oversleeping, waking up with a king size hangover er sumpin
