MU has more rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and fewer turnovers. It's just that shooting thing that is problematic.
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Glad to see OMax put back on the bench after that stupid dunk attempt.  Those plays make you win or lose games.

Morsell and Kolek are really holding MU back offensively.

Both will play heavy minutes all season barring injury, and both have a huge share of the ball on offense.

Tyler is very poised and makes good passes, which does good things and opens up the offense.
However woof he can't shoot right now, it's brutal.

Morsell might have been harmed by his hot start. I knew it couldn't be true from 3. However, he's a good mid range finisher and good at driving to the hoop and drawing fouls/finishing. The staff needs to stress that he sticks to that outside of open/set threes. He will be able to make an occasional 3 here and there but that's not his game.

I'd actually prefer Justin Lewis shoots a 3 than Morsell or Kolek.

3 on 1 break, Ellis didn't pass it ahead for a wide open dunk. He made a 3 but apparently a high percentage shot isn't in the game plan. 24 threes in the first half? That won't work in conference play.

It will work okay if we hit 35% or so.

This team is going to need to launch threes to win.

Really thought OMax got pushed on the dunk attempt.

I don't have the DVR on but would be interested to know if the refs missed it or I missed it.

Great points Dr. V.  Both guys need to be far more under control once they go down hill and use the shot fake.  For some reason Morell's game looks sped up and it's hurting his effectiveness.

Is Kolek sure he's left handed? He looks so awkward shooting.

nyg

Well it's obvious what Shaka's play is.  On offense, work ball around and shoot the three, only problem, MU doesn't shoot well from there. On defense, press and hope for turnover, only problem, teams are passing over the top of the press (like Wiskey game) and are getting layups and dunks.  Way too many of those, way too many.

MU has taken 24 threes in first half alone.  Don't know what MU record is for attempts, but has to be close.

Morsell is 2 for 7 from three with two airballs and a gift banked in three.
Kolek is 0-4 from three.
Lewis is 2-4, thank goodness.
Jones/Elliott 2 for 7 from three.

No free throws for MU, only 2 for KSU.  Yeah, no ref issue excuses.

Again, KSU without their best player would be brutal loss.

The spin of the ball coming off of his hands looks odd too. What a strange strange thing.

Actually, Lance Blanks was very good. Seems to do his homework.
Lance Blanks was one of my all time favorite players at Texas. I think he is doing well. The other guy seems to be broadcasting to people who have never watched MU.

2 for 14 ??? OMFG ...

I mean .. that's bad in 5th grade

Stretchdeltsig

Kiosk looks like Diener playing left handed with a broken arm. It's painful watching him shoot.

NolongerWarriors

Kolek's misses aren't even close.

Good point.

The team will NOT slow down, Shaka and Nevada want it that way.

However, the team playing fast as hell doesn't mean each individual player has to play fast as hell.

They can still take their time and compose themselves. Very difficult decision for inexperienced players and that's on the coaches to teach

He got some good arc on that last brick.

Early in the season they always made the extra pass. The ball went side to side; inside outside. I sat at Fiserv screaming that they were passing up too many good, open shots. I was worried about shot clock violations.

Ever since the St. Bonaventure game, it seems every guy over the haifcourt line wants to fire up a quick 3.

What the hell happened.

I would not have drawn up the beginning of the 2nd half like this

Stretchdeltsig

We stink. If Kolek shoots one more time I'm turning the tv off.

PointWarrior

Do Kolek and Morsell get NIL money for being put on the side of a milk carton?
