I'm enjoying the dance in Charlotte
« on: November 20, 2021, 11:40:48 AM »
I was happy to see Smart get hired, but I didn’t expect much out of this team this year. The roster turnover was somewhat expected with Wojo leaving and complicated with a looser transfer portal and covid giving players another year let us lose key veterans: Theo John left for Duke. But good for him. He gets to play for Mike K in his final year. I personally think I like the Oklahoma kid better. Theo got rebounds but the tall skinny guy from Nigeria gets blocks that fuel the break. If he can catch a pass from Kolek without fumbling it out of bounds he could dunk it a few times. Wouldn’t that be nice.  Smart has a lot of freshmen. Five? Well he’s giving them minutes because he’s playing a press. And those kids are playing early in games, not coming in for a few seconds before the final buzzer. The playing time they are getting this year will prepare them for next year and the year after. I’m enjoying the games so far, and even if it all goes south, I will not be discouraged. I have been glued to this program for fifty years.  Justin Lewis is a special player. Kolek reminds me the of the old Travis Diener days. Morsell is the guy that keeps the team within reach.  Stop by Miss Katie's and I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

The dance is in Charleston- I know, I'm an old fart who got lost along the way. I took the wrong exit off the freeway somewhere. Cheers

Kid’s name is Kur Kuath from South Sudan.
But something tells me that it may not be that important to you.

Even better, he moved to Utah when he was a toddler.  He's lived in the US for 20 years.

Why is Justin Lewis setting screens on the three point line? He could post up anyone. He should be the focus after the kick out. He has the athletic ability to do anything he wants to on the court. DWade couldn't be contained when he was a sophomore. I remember the Kentucky game.  The only way Jimmy butler was ever contained was by Buzz. So we got to play as a team. Hmmm. My friend Al said some guys play fiddles and some guys play amazing violin. I say let the good guys play.

Hey Warrior Chick, I said "you guys are funny" but I understand now-- girls can love basketball and be funny too. I love the video clip. I could have, should have learned how to do that but I spent too many mornings drinking bloody marys.  And by the time sociology came around, it was happy hour. I'm 70 years old now so I don't have time to flirt with you. But back in the day, I'd be so sweet to know you.  Girls love major league baseball games too. Guys should figure it out.

The boys learned something tonight. Effort is not enough. Find the the rim. Get to the rim. Or rebound and get it back again.    Hey-- I'm happy we got this far this fast. It's all a learning process.  I'm pretty sure you kids are tired of me so I'll leave you alone for a while.  Cheers Warriors fans. Good days are coming soon. I'm sure of that.
