Rocky has a decision to make. My guess he will bilk it for 5 days.

Morsell.

Kolek and Kur honorable mentions.

If we're disqualifying players for missing free throws down the stretch I'm not sure anyone qualifies. Kur missed 2. Kolek missed the only one he got. Stevie missed 2. I believe Lewis missed one, but I might be thinking of earlier in the game.

Not saying Morsell should be disqualified.

But he was 4/9 including a missed front end

Lewis was 7/8

Free throws plural kinda the key there. Not a fair comp.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Morsell is a scorer and a good shooter who simply has to make those FTs -- or at least most of them. Kur ... anytime he makes a FT it's a bonus.

But don't get me wrong ... I'm certainly not outraged if DM wins SOTG. He had a fine game other than the misses.

Tyler Kolek. Our offense doesn't really function without him, and his defense clinched the win. Honorable mention to Morsell, Kuath, Justin, and Stevie for his defense on Curbelo that allowed Morsell to slide over to Frazier.

Markusquette

Darryl Morsell. Plenty of missed free throws by most of the guys combined. He was steady as a rock on offense and definitely impacted on defense as we expect. The 3 on 1 break where he pulled up and drained a 3 was ice cold.

JFL. Those missed Morsell free throws at $ time. But close

This.

1.  Lewis
2.  Morsell
3.  Kolek
4.  Kuath

Big games from all four.

Morsel is proving to be a tremendous leader for this team. Although he's not a player, Shaka makes a big difference this year. There's a lot to like about this Marquette team.

Kolek.

We do when without his defense. Especially at the end.

He doesn't score the way Morsell does yet, but he is the difference maker in so many ways.

Kur is a shot blocker and a game changer. He blocks the ball in play and disrupts the game. Mac was an elite college shot blocker and Kur is not far behind.

And it's so nice to see him getting blocks without being called for fouls. Through three games, Kuath has been called for four personal fouls total.

It's been a long time since we had multiple players in a real conversation for SOTG honors... refreshing to say the least!

Yup...Shaka had him as his "Dimino" of the game as well.  UI was afraid to attack him/the lane in the second half.

They switched Morsell onto Frazier when he started torching us. Then he stopped and the tide turned.

Morsell also got several buckets when we were floundering on offense to pull us out of multiple funks. SOTG.

GooooMarquette

Kuath. He had 5 blocks and 2 steals in only 23 minutes. That's some big-time defensive productivity, and had to affect Illinois' play-calling down the stretch.

Morsell, Kolek and Lewis also have solid cases.

Curbelo

Bothers me when people say this, even knowing it's tongue in cheek. Why do you think he played so poorly? Our defense on him was suffocating. He plays like garbage because we play well.

Well, he only played 15 mins against SIUE and 13 against UNH because he wasn't very good. Shaka got him outta there and put in Oso, so there wasn't much time for Kuath to commit fouls.

I look forward to seeing which Kuath shows up most games, because we need the most recent one!

Theo could pick up more fouls in two minutes than Kur has in three games.
