Mr. Morsell has a three game streak!

Kolek or Kueth. 5 blocks when Illinois was up and a big time steal.

Can't even opine having had to miss the first half, but Kuath should get some props -he was the difference down the stretch.

Got to add Kur Kuath to that list.

JFL. Those missed Morsell free throws at $ time. But close

Kueth also had 2 steals per ESPN box score. Led the team along with a couple others. His one swipe on top was particularly nice.

Let's be honest, it should go to Curbelo.

Can we please do this just to tweak Illini fans all year?  Please?

Agreed.  1and 1a.  But JFL is 1.

That would be funny!

I'm not sure yet who should get it but it's no slam dunk for Morsell. Need to make those FTs if you're the alpha dog.

Our Kueth was the difference maker.

Morsell scored big again, but missing all those huge FTs ... I don't know. I mean, it wasn't just 1 or 2, it was a bunch of 'em.

Over and over again Kuath was making big defensive plays. Even when he didn't block shots, he changed them. The fact that he played quite poorly in the first two games but really responded when we needed him against a quality opponent ... I think that means something.

Morsell, Lewis and Kolek also deserve consideration, obviously. And Shaka, if we could give it to a coach.

And yes, as a few others said ... the main reason we won the game ... Curbelo. Man, was he bad.

I'll go Kolek. Steadying influence.

jutaw22mu

Kuath for the 5 blocks and the steal at the top of the key in crunch time.  Needs to work on his offense, but the blocked shots in the paint were fantastic.

Morsell.

Definitely not SOTG worthy but Mitchell shut down Curbelo for the last 6 minutes after they switched Morsell over to Frazier. Great defense from a freshman.

Goose

Morsell but Kur and Kolek were great.

Morsell.

Kolek and Kur honorable mentions.

If we're disqualifying players for missing free throws down the stretch I'm not sure anyone qualifies. Kur missed 2. Kolek missed the only one he got. Stevie missed 2. I believe Lewis missed one, but I might be thinking of earlier in the game.
