Weird.  ESPN has it under West Virginia

Did Overseas Elite change their name? Or do they not have a team this year?

A team make up mostly of former Marquette basketball players is No. 1! A team made up mostly of former Marquette basketball players is No. 1!

OK ... not as catchy as "We're No. 1!" ... so we'll go with that.

We're No. 1! We're No. 1!

I want the Elam Ending to spread everywhere.

Like grade school.   The last week of school is a joke, kids aren't learning anything, it's all just playing out the string, killing time until the final buzzer.

Imagine the Elam Ending for schools.  Sometime in June, the superintendent pops in to the school and calls it.    When you learn 7 more things, pack up your locker and go home.

No thanks I'd take the win over Davidson exactly as it was.

My son plays for Chapman Basketball Academy.  They've had a few Elam Ending games and its fantastic.

It's almost never exciting.  I mean, OSU's alumni team won the TBT title by stepping to the free throw line and having two chances to make a single free throw.  Talk about anticlimactic, can you imagine that being a national title?  And the confetti drops from the ceiling!  Jaylen Brunson hits the game winning free throw!

We talked about this with Mo as well. It's in the full interview, but we also cut it out separately.

That's still more exciting than having a team that is down by 14 points making the last two minutes of the game clock last for 15 minutes by continually fouling.

Yeah but the ending is already decided with those games.  It’s anti-climatic no matter what the ending.

The Elam Ending is perfect for this tournament. And I wouldn't mind some experimenting at some levels of college or HS basketball.

I do hate the scenario chick mentioned, and it happens ALL the time ... and she didn't even mention the multiple replay reviews to see how many more tenths of seconds need to be put on the clock. But I agree that Elam probably would be too wild a change for big-time hoops.

I love the Elam ending for this tournament and even think it could be awesome for no shot clock high school basketball.

But for D1 college? Would be a travesty. Terrible.

Actually, I think that the best way to get rid of all the hacking at the end is to make a rule that in the last two minutes, the penalty is the applicable foul shots plus the ball afterwards.

Current NCAA game format .. there've been games won by a last shot free throw.  Yeah, it's more rare.

I'll take the good with the bad.

FIBA used to be like that if it wasn't a shooting foul.

Yeah I just don't agree with that.  What if it is a close game and it is more of a "routine" foul versus an "intentional but not intentional" foul?  That is way too harsh of a penalty.  About the only rule change I would make is to get rid of the single bonus so that every foul after seven is free throws.  Also reduce the number (or length) of timeouts at the end of games too.

But the Elam ending isn't really a solution IMO.
