Georgia basketball stinks and has stunk forever. This isn't some new revelation.

He lost his entire class. People are rightly questioning what is going on

Yea. I always assumed their program highlight was when their bad team won went on a crazy run in the SEC tournament and won after the Georgia Dome was damaged.

Turns out they actually made a Final Four in 1983.

Sure that's fine. But I have the right to tell them they stink, when they're waxing on poetically about a bottom barrel SEC program. Pining back to the Mark Fox days - LOL.

It's comical watching those fans demand answers when they have zero history and zero recent success. I do find the "Nate Oats made Alabama relevant" point amusing though. He's a one in a million coach. Good luck finding that guy and convincing him to come to Georgia.

Uncle Rico

Thank you, Tom Crean, for upgrading the Marquette program and moving it into the modern era and shepherding it into the Big East

Wojo lost to Georgia at home in 2018. Along with losing to DePaul, was major contributor to missing out on a tourney berth.

I like Crean for what he was able to do at Marquette.  Rooted for him at IU, have rooted for him at UGA.  However, I questioned the fit when it happened and I question the fit even more now.  Crean is not a fit at UGA.  He had zero recruiting ties to the area before and it is clear he has still not developed that component today.  Crean is a Midwestern coach with Midwestern ties.  The allure of Georgia was that the expectations were lower than that of IU and that he could develop a strong/reputable basketball program at a football-first school.  It just hasn't worked out and things are in disarray at the moment.

Still think Crean should have pursued Pittsburgh (when they hired Capel).  He was an assistant there, was coming off a disaster in Stallings, he had success in an urban/metropolitan program before and has a strong basketball tradition.  Perhaps Pitt didn't want him, however.

If he gets the axe from UGA, does he continue to coach or go into broadcasting?  (FWIW, I don't think he is on hot seat right now, but if they bottom out after next year, maybe...).

I've honestly always thought Crean could be pretty good as a color guy on TV

Who cares.

The Crean obsession was at least understandable in the few years following his departure. We are now three head coaches past him.
