Lojeski is from Racine, played D1 and has been playing in Europe. Watching today, I felt like he and Travis had a good connection. Maybe because they have both spent a lot of time playing in Europe. Maybe because they are both 35+?!

Fun to watch. Keep it going!

9 point lead at halftime and the B1 guys got the ball to start the second half.
Chapman went fullcourt press to start the half and the MU guys scored the first 8 points before B1 got the ball over halfcourt.

Very balanced scoring.  I believe Cook led with 15 points.  7 players scored at least 7.

I would say up and down. Had his moments but certainly not as good as I would have expected.

Hmmmm....okay.  It's gonna be tough to fill DJO's shoes.  He basically went full badass mode in numerous stretches last year.

I agree with Dreams. Vander looked good in his ‘easy’ moments when he was free in the lane and had a great but simple steal. Yet he didn’t look confident like he could take over for some minutes (though no one really did, including Buycks and Jamil who should be expected to do so).

It was the first game, and I think/hope the team will settle in, and contributions will be consistent and valuable.

Cook has been a tremendous  TBT player for us.  He was the perfect addition I must say.  We really have a likable group of guys.

Because, a la Al, some players are there for practice, and can be called upon if truly needed. If Travis isn’t hitting or making passes, then maybe Rowsey comes in. He wasn’t needed today.

For Sacar, I imagine that if our inside game is not working, he will come in to cut and drive. Again, it wasn’t needed today. And Vander seems the first choice for that role. Understandably.

This. Plus, I know participation isn’t always consistent. I think there was one year Jamil stopped midway through due to an NBA tryout. The bubble was a bit unique in that was much less of a concern.

Not bad to have some additional depth.

I agree that Cook has been a wonderful addition. I’ll also say that I think that Dan Fitzgerald and Joe Chapman have done a great job of seeing needs, filling gaps and managing the roster. And players have stepped up to play key roles. (For example, I love both Acker and D. Wilson on this team, along with Travis.)

I am satisfied with Golden Eagles but with the comments on Marquette and Joliet perhaps we could have considered Explorers

Very ironic that over the years Derrick has been a solid contributor to the success of the Golden Eagles team .

I think Defense and Passing are the two key important ingredients for a team to win in these games . Derrick definitely plays hard on defense and he moves the ball around well to guys who are wide open.

Opening game so no worries.  Tons of talent and several years playing together.  Championship threat once again. Enjoy the ride.

Do we play tomorrow?

4 p.m. ET.

Fun game tonight. Literally, everybody who played contributed. Nice performances from a couple guys who took plenty of flak during their time at MU -- Derrick and Luke. With Jamil, Buycks, Acker, Cook, etc ... just too much talent for that opponent.

Tomorrow's opponent also won easily. Looking forward to the game.

Great summary, 82. I’ll add that the beginning was a bit tense, as MU started slowly and was not hitting shots. Once they got in a groove and gauged what would work, they almost cruised.

Tomorrow may be different and will, either way, be fun.

I have really enjoyed watching Dwight Buycks play in this event over the years. He is a very entertaining player who plays hard every possession.

Vander struggled to get going early. Lots of driving into the lane with his head own. Later in the game he showed tremendous ability jumping into passing lanes and getting easy scores. Seemed to get him going. I think his play will pick up as the tournament continues.

Like what I saw from Lojeski too. Think he will be more of an asset than Charlo when he settles in. Kind of wish Rowsey/Anim got in later on, but I guess I see why they don't need every guy. Cook is the star of the team this year.

Lojeski brings the same sort of thing Diener does.  Spent the last 8 years playing elite level ball in Europe.  So he's savvy and experienced even if he's not super athletic or a superstar.

Talented, too. On one possession yesterday, he threw a tremendous bounce pass to Jamil through traffic. And don't forget it was his aggressive drive and perfect dish that set up Diener's winner last year.

Surprised there isn't more chatter about the Golden Eagles tbt team. They've been more entertaining to watch than the actual college team for years.

The past 3 years I've made more of an attempt to watch tbt games over away games for Marquette
