Appreciate you sharing this.

He sold out 100 straight games at Texas... holy crap.

I'm almost 100% certain that Steele doesn't "want" to wear a mask. He does it out of respect to others.

Steele has been excellent since he took the post.

Well again, it could be me and an overreaction.  Although he seemed nervous for some reason.

Thanks for the link. IMHO this was better than the formal presser - very personable and as Dr said having guys from as far back as VCU show is impressive.

that was at VCU (but he did mention it while answering a question about being second fiddle at UT so easy to miss)

That makes a lot more sense. Appreciate the correction.

I'd like to see Diener on the sidelines during games.

Agree. Was there like all the pressers but this time in standing room. Outside of the press and MU employees there were only about 15 people there at the most. Travis was one of them. Would like to thank Mr Scholl and Mr Lovell again for making this happen. This is awesome.

No - at VCU.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Like his slight shot at Gard about the "much maligned by some coaches" transfer portal in the follow up presser.

No, VCU.

Yeah, I was gonna look that up. I thought I saw that Texas actually rarely sold out basketball, a situation pre-dating Shaka.

Were you pleased with Shaka?  I thought he was particularly impressive with the Q&A?  Very thoughtful guy and in a noticeably genuine way.
Yes. Such a breath of fresh air. I can feel the juice coming back into the program.

I was not able to watch the press conference live, but have now watched the entirety on demand. Shaka knocked it out of the park. Picture him pitching a 5 star recruit and his parents on playing at MU. Seashells and balloons, baby. We're goin' uptown. Book it, hey?

Uh....yes.  Lovell did not look comfortable at all, even reading.

Lovell certainly didn't look great.

In his speech, he called Shaka's daughter by the name of Zar.  Her name is Zora not Zar.

Lovell is a stiff. Something tells me he was along for the ride on this process.

Scholl impressed me and I have a newfound perception of him. Pulled the trigger and said all the right things during the transition. Brought in a proven coach that the university, players and alums alike, can rally around.

VCU has roughly 9k less capacity than Texas. Their Arena has less than 8k capacity.

Very impressed with your snark. Teal wasn't necessary.

You think that's impressive? When I mix the snark with sarcasm it's really something - I hear folks love that  ;)

This is incorrect. Shaka would not be here if not for Lovell. There is plenty to criticize him about, but this process isn't that.

Agreed.  That earlier conversation about Lovell not understanding the importance of basketball at Marquette couldn't be more off-base.

Marquette went all-in on Shaka.  Supposedly Lovell took the recommendation of the Athletic Department over that of the Trustees.  If he is wrong, it may well cost him his job.
Have some patience, FFS.
