Fun fact, Moser was committed to play at Marquette in 86 but MU pulled his scholly.

That's how he ended up as a walk-on at Creighton.

Interesting.

Musta been because we had so much talent in the late 80s....

I didn't say anything about a good person.
And since you mentioned the good person angle, are you on board with a Pitino hire who we know can coach  but is likely not areal good person.

Pitino can suck turds, he doesn't belong here, and has zero chance of being our coach.

What does Moser's tie to Creighton look like? Don't want to give someone their dream job only to figure out they have another slightly more dream job.

I think you are right
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I specifically asked for Mbakwe expressions, haikus, and Arby's jokes.

Joking about Arbys will get you...

My boss once gave me an Arby's calendar and told me the coupons were my bonus.  Guess you had to be there.

He has zero chance of being at MU but he would be the far superior choice to whoever they do pick.

Ha, that wasn't it.

In terms of evaluating Porter, I'd look more to what he built at Loyola rather than overall career record. He got his first head job very young at Ark Little Rock I believe. Did well there and was seen as a hot shot up and comer. IL State was in bad shape and had lousy resources when he took over. That was humbling and led to his time with Majerus at St. Louis where he learned a lot and was much better prepared for the opportunity at Loyola.

He was a good guy back in HS as a star player, and has stayed the same guy with growth through some tough times from what I've heard from people close to him.

I love the way his teams play. My only question would be recruiting on BE level, but he is a pretty charismatic guy who has had recent success so I would think the opportunities Marquette presents would lead to good results. We could do a lot worse.

I wasn't there, but I still find that pretty funny.

Oh man this video is great thank you for posting

If you know Rick, that's his defense. So nuanced.

Agreed. Has me drooling. Would love to watch 30+ games of that every year

So, are we only supposed to judge Moser since he's been at Loyola? Or only since the final four?

His time at Illinois State raises eyebrows, but there are many conflicting stories on the state the program during his time there.  The 4 years at SLU with Majerus had to help.

He's been at Loyola for 8 seasons, with 6 winning seasons,  The last 4 years have been Final 4, NIT, Nothing (but 2d in the MVC), and this year, 2d round of the NCAAs . . . maybe more.  He has consistent winning records.

Moser's last 4 years at Loyola have been a success,  If Wojo had similar success would be on a short list to replace Coach K (not saying Wojo would be selected, but he would be in the discussion).

I think it should be a package deal: Moser as coach; Sister Jean as the new President of MU.

I'd take Porter Moser as our next coach in a heartbeat. He took a small Jesuit school to the Final Four and has them super competitive again this year. His squad plays smart, team-focused ball. And remember, Buzz was a failed HC at New Orleans and that didn't seem to hold him back at MU
