That’s a very concerning ( and ignorant)

I didn't listen, but I'm sure it was the boilerplate interview with the local radio guy.

Nothing hard hitting, no pressure from Homer, pure PR.

What do you expect from Homer?  The paid shill for MU BB that has never asked a tough or meaningful question in his unremarkable career...

He backtracked on that very quickly, but it makes me think that the frustrations weren’t clear to the administration until recently.

He quickly back tracked on the initial statement, but yikes. I was listening and almost threw my phone against the wall. So bad.
\The guy just learned that? Sheesh.

I imagine it’s much simpler then whatever theories people have.

Bottom line is Wojo was never Scholl’s hire.

Maybe that's the bottom line.  But my theory, they PR was honest, they did have several discussions this week.  Scoll was trying to guide Wojo to do some things that would help him keep his job, Wojo perhaps fought that too much.  And I think that's pretty simple.

Contrary to what some claimed, the PT article mattered (awesome job again to those involved). The fan’s voices mattered.

I wonder if Scholl wanted a strong say in who Killings’ replacement would be, and wanted Wojo to can host most of his staff a la Chris Mack.

Not exactly a surprise that Wojo couldn't be talked into changing directions. Maybe he's as stubborn off the court as he is on the court.

The donors mattered.  The fans voices may have included those with money but this process started long before the PT article was posted.

Scholl mentions it again right at the beginning of this interview:

I didn't listen to the Homer interview but in the first 8 minutes of this interview I think he is answering the questions pretty well

The fact that Wojo may have pushed back on anything recommended to improve the program is mind boggling.  He was in no position to negotiate, let alone not take advice.   The little sorrow I felt for Wojo has passed.

I also wondering if the “differences” involved a new contract with basically zero buyout for next year.

I think it's pretty clear that it was a frustrated shot at the fans who did the billboard and other forms of protest. I don't think it says anything about his level of awareness.

This came together in the last few days and trigger was pulled last night. Had to get the right donors lined up.

Homer is a really good guy.  You might not like his show, but he’s done a lot of good for MU.

He just pledged to donate $5K to MU if they hire Beilein before Monday.

Homer, after the interview: " Bill, will he be hiring John Belien?

School:  "He doesn't want to coach at mu, so no."

After the break, homer:  " I'll donate $5k ifU hires belein!"

Was this something Scholl wanted to do and he actively sought out the donors, or was his hand forced by said donors?  Had it not been for them, do you think there would’ve been no action?

It was more than win and loses. He wanted to say more, yet kept it private.

As he should.

He rightly fired the guy. There is no reason to throw him under the bus, as well.

Homer is a UW grad and has said the only connection he has with MUBB is that they pay me. The voice of MUBB has a 3 hour daily radio show and would rather discuss Tim Boyle 5 days a week.

Pretty sure he didn’t graduate from Madison actually. Just was there for awhile.

He’s an entertaining PBP guy but he’s a pretty mediocre radio host.

Entertaining unless you actually want to know what’s happening in the game.

That part was strange. Wondered if perhaps they pressured Wojo to hire a more experienced assistant than Wojo would typically hire to coach/ball at lunch.
