Not sure what else people expect him to say. At this point, nothing he says will change how people feel about the program, if they feel anything at all. I am just glad I am not spending money towards something that doesnt seem to be going anywhere.

Coach Wojo spoke at the Big East Press Conference. But did Coach Wojo speak on 94.5 ESPN with Homer and Tony after the game

It's so unfair that MU had to deal with COVID and injuries. I can't think of another team in the country that had those challenges. And MU had to play with 10' hoops. Its a miracle we won any games.   Well done Mr Wojo!

Weak. Every team has covid related issues.

Trash ...

I agree !  Wojo was outstanding..,
I mean Covid only hit his team - not the whole country - and clearly it had many side effects:

Tons of losing ( including DP)
Inability to run inbounds plays
Terrible offense
TURNOVERS
etc etc etc

Poor guy.  An extension is clearly in
Order. ASAP

CountryRoads

Went down a rabbit hole and watched a few of the media availabilities and press conferences in 2014 before Wojo coached his first game and in 2015. Guy really had all the answers then.

We had far less than most. Credit to all involved with MU for that, and some good luck that we didn't get shut down much by opponents' issues either.

I didn't hear COVID or injuries as an excuse for this poor season. I heard the coach say he was proud of his players because they handled everything without complaining. Also said he felt bad for the seniors because it wasn't a normal season.

Look, I know that all are extremely frustrated but you really don't need to distort his words to fit your narrative.

MuggsyB

We had far fewer COVID and injury issues than most teams.

Agreed. He was complimenting his players for not complaining when they could have.

The mental and physical break may have been helpful for our team to have a week off during the season.

I have no interest in listening to Wojo's presser.  This was an inordinately frustrating day and a microcosm of seven years of suckage.  We've talked about it ad nauseum but no rational person can look at this MU team and not see the issues we have are entrenched and starts at the top.

Query - Is Wojo the unluckiest coach in the history of sports?!?!

You need to go back to the Dodd's Board and read what he just said in a reply to "Will Wojo be back" thread.  I hardly do, but a friend from another college b-ball forum heard about it and told me to read. Going sorta viral I guess.

Seriously, it is unbelievable and I don't know where to start.  Off my head, COVID full cause of season misery, players sick, players having serious mental issues, MU officials full aware of COVID effect on players, public will never be made aware of what happened, Wojo staying, etc.......

Muggs, since you know how this guy works, can you go read and give a summary to all, I gotta run.

The team should've opted out if there was so much concern. It doesn't sound like the juice was worth the squeeze.

Wow. That's pretty out there even for Dodds.

Yeah.  I will say I listened to the Koby interview the other day - and I was surprised to hear he was living in a hotel (and presumably the whole team).  I guess I don't pay enough attention, but that was news to me.

Seems like a modern version of Adam Sandler's answer in Billy Madison.

MUfan12

Has to keep his access so he can ask and answer questions about how great the players/coaches are.

tower912

Koby wears his emotions so much on his sleeve during games, the least surprising thing was learning he battled depression.  Good luck to the young man.
