you guys are dense.  Regardless of championships your teams have, you have loser mentalities.  You settle for mediocrity on a regular basis.  You accept it with the Bears abs you're accepting it with Marquette.  You can list all the championships you want.

So again you don't have a leg to stand on other than "we never win so Chicago people all suck because football" 😂😂😂 most small town WI mentality ever. Let me guess Walworth county?

Let me also point out many of the posters you're claiming are chicagoans are not. So maybe you're just upset your fellow Sconis have that mentality you claim doesn't exist

I said nothing of the sort.  I said you have a loser mentality.  You continue to prove it.  Enjoy the big win.  Your season was a success!

So I say I agree with you about the reaction to the game and you still call it a loser mentality. I guess you're either calling yourself a loser or lack basic reading comprehension which also fits what you've posted so far.

The winning streak rolls on.

I'm totally unimpressed with the so-called self proclaimed basketball experts around here.
A bunch of loud mouth knownothings.
All they do is quote numbers and have no soul.
They are the kind of people who live by numbers, like the body count in Vietnam.

I have been impressed by a lot of statements made on MUScoop.  I have been missguided by these fools.  Never again, I'm sticking with these kids over the bad mouthing around here.

Character revealed tonight, it takes time and patience to develop a program.

What a performance, congratulations to the team, and staff.

Happy to see Vogue jump into this thread.

The Bears comparison is spot on

Football's the most worthless overrated sport out there. I'm a packer "fan" but any sport where the "star" plays roughly 8 minutes is idiotic and so is the culture that weirdly follows it like a religion instead of sports that are entertaining.

What? Just noticing that both fanbases rabidly defend perpetual mediocrity. It's not that deep bro.

I think I heard the UNC has only lost 18 non con games at the Dean Dome. Now 19!
That caught me too, 18 non con L's in 35 years. Now there are a ton of cupcakes in there but we're still talking ~350 games.

I'm don't care that they won just as I haven't cared about them winning or losing all year.   I'm upset that a meaningless win is celebrated because it's so short sighted and will only improve the chance that MUBB sinks further into irrelevance.

A fan celebrating a win is a fan celebrating a win. Period. My happiness tonight (or your sadness) has nothing to do with what happens next season for Marquette.

You seriously have to get a more realistic understanding about what your emotions can control. Hint: nothing.

Some people are just joyless.

No, some people are realists.

It's tough to get worked up about the game when the season is effectively over and the result is meaningless.

Sometimes you just have to enjoy the day,  would you be happy if MU lost by 15😄

If losing by 15 guaranteed Wojo would be gone after this season, I'd be extremely happy for MU to get blown out.

There's another awful season coming if Wojo isn't fired.

How in the world could you NOT think this game has any bearing on Wojo's future??? Maybe not specifically next year but WOW. He's still riding the 2016 Nova court storm today! How laughable!

Fans make decisions based on games.

ADs make decisions based on seasons.

The only way this game could have bearing on Wojo's future is if he actually pulls off a 7 game winning streak to make the tourney this season. Since the likelihood of that is somewhere around 1%, this season is going to go down as a mark against Wojo, whether or not they won tonight.

Wojo is not getting fired this season. If he can't pull off the miracle run, COVID will save his job. Next season will be win or get fired for Wojo...again regardless of whether or not they won tonight. Scholl isn't in his office saying "I was only going to give Wojo one more year to turn it around but golly gee he won at UNC so I'm going to give him two years."

Decisions are made off of seasons and seasons are the culmination of individual games.

Landing somewhere in the middle season after season after season after season after season after season after season has provided Wojo with nothing but handsome extensions.

Beating UNC, coming back from an embarrassing deficit to squeak out a win against Georgetown, and beating a D3 Butler team by 3 are all individual games - obviously. But those three individual games aggregate to change the final result of this season to another "somewhere in the middle" season that the admin will happily pawn off as "just missed the tourney" or "another post season (NIT) appearance".

The alternative is losses in those games that will force the admin's hand in making a decision about this coaching staff - whether it be this year or next. Winning those three individual games in the greater context of this season adds no progress to the "where-we-want-to-be-o-meter", but they do provide a convenient shield for the admin to downplay the dire state of affairs of our program.

So excuse me for not being one of the blissful idiots. I see the bigger picture and it's quite grim. It just seems that... some don't. Some never will.

I am extremely happy they won and enjoyed the first half big time. This game will have not be the deciding factor on Wojo's fate and it should not be deciding factor. I agree with TAMU that Covid saved Wojo's job a long time ago. Again, I am very happy they won and hope they win again on Saturday.

The admin doesn't give two sh*ts about "finishing in the middle." At this point in his tenure, missing the tournament is a bad season. This season is already a bad season barring a miracle. COVID has already saved his job this year. How he performs next season will be the sole criteria for whether or not he is the coach the following year. Today's game, or any of the remaining games will have zero impact on that decision barring a miracle winning streak. He could lose out or come one win short of the tournament and have the same amount of leash next season.

I understand that you think Marquette losing is the best thing for the program long term. I don't agree with but comprehend your thought process. But do you enjoy it? Do you enjoy watching your team lose? If the answer is yes, I don't get that but that's your business. If that's how you get your rocks off, more power to you.

But if the answer is no...why are you watching? If wins make you upset because you think it is bad for the program long term and losses make you upset because you don't enjoy watching your team lose, what possible upside can there be to you watching? Why not just tune out until either Wojo is fired or has won enough to change your mind?

Glad we won. Good game for MU, but bottom line, if it keeps Wojo around then it is another step further into the abyss.

So you're saying we shouldn't compete and intentionally lose?  I don't think MU fans are neglecting the bigger picture at all.  Nor do I believe last night's win or what we do from here on out will determine how we proceed in the future.
