Does the 10.5 million include the Championship and Final Four? If so - still an unfair comparison to then exclude the NBA Finals.

I thought you would be able to see that 4-7 games of increased viewership wasn't going to make up for a 6 million per game difference in viewership. But here's all the math.

In 2018, the NBA playoff games up to the finals averaged 4.5 million viewers per game. The max number of games was 98 (the actual number was 78). 98 x 4.5 mill = 441 million total possible viewers (351 actual viewers).

The 2018 NBA finals averaged 17.7 million viewers per game. The max number of games 7 (the actual number was 4). 7 x 17.7 mill = 123.9 million total possible viewers (70.8 million actual viewers).

441 million + 123.9 million = 564.9 million total possible viewers
351 million + 70.8 million = 421.8 million actual viewers

10.5 million viewers per game x 63 NCAAT games = 661.5 million actual viewers.

661.5 million > 564.9 million to 421.8 million

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

One Scooper, who is a verified insider by the meat eating lovers, has guaranteed Wojo is gone after this season. Says he hears much differently than what everyone else hears here. So I'll trust him. Even though he then backtracks immediately and asks how anyone could ever know what the suckers in the administration will do. Which is admitting he's really heard absolutely nothing at all.

Because it's my alma mater and I'll never not watch. Is it really any of your business anyway? Why are you so obsessed with how I feel about the team / program? If I think we suck and bitch about it, that's what I'm gonna do. It's called being a sports fan. I'm not the first and I won't be the last.

It's our business because it's unavoidable with you. You bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch some more. You're as big of a triple B as there has ever been. My 3 year old's temper tantrums aren't as bad as your kicking and screaming after Marquette's wins. And somehow you consider yourself the smartest guy in the room.

You keep saying I don't understand that yesterday's victory had no impact on Wojo.  You're too dumb to realize that what you're arguing is only proving the larger point.  You're a mental midget.  You didn't really go to Marquette did you?  If so it's embarrassing.

So since you have resorted to name calling, I'm pretty much going to declare that a white flag.

I'll take the W on this one.

Pretty sure the verified insider is full of it. Wojo is coming back.

The only money I'll give the athletic program from here on in is season tickets (I wish I could withhold that, but I just cannot). This is different than my practice in years past.

Then you are a big part of the problem.

Thanks for guaranteeing that Wojo stays forever and for ruining Marquette basketball.

This brings about a great philosophical question. (1) Does the admin / BOT have a duty to ensure the basketball program is winning and continuing the important tradition that is a key tenet of the University's identity? Or (2) do they only have a fiduciary duty to ensure there are butts in the seats?

Normally they are one and the same, but with MUBB having an unusually loyal fanbase - it has created an opportunity for the BOT to accept mediocrity (even embrace it).

The BOT really doesn't have a responsibility for the basketball program and how it operates. Their responsibility is to the overall governance and direction of the University.

Keep in mind that if you were on campus in March 1977, you're already over 60. You are likely in the declining years of your interest in Marquette basketball.

If you were on campus in March 2003, you're around 40 years of age. It's close to 20 years since you were on campus and we have not had a championship caliber team in seven years.

These are big gaps. In between, there are new teams and new players and a whole lot of mediocre basketball. Are the students going to be energized? Not if we do not start winning and are ranked.

You have to regenerate fan interest and if things don't change, we're in trouble!

Can't believe you would be so myopic, so shortsighted, such a blissful idiot, and keep those season tickets.

You obviously are happy with mediocrity.

Thanks for ruining Marquette basketball.

I'd bet a lot of money that you're single. Probably late 20s/early 30s. Too much time on your hands.

How'd I do?

Wait did TAMU prove you wrong my March madness point and you just glossed over it? If you spend all that time arguing have the decency to own up when you're wrong.
