This is a press corps? There haven't been this many softballs since Eddie Feigner. Pathetic.
That said, great meaningless responses, Woj. Maybe you're due an extension.

5DollarPitcher

"Coach, after establishing yourself in the NCAAB world with two nice non-conference wins, your team seems to have hit a wall with consecutive losses to DePaul and St John. Are you concerned with the direction this team is headed? If so, how do you plan to get the team and program back on track?"

Lovell and Scholl would sprint into the press room (or Zoom) and immediately revoke that journalist's press pass and, if a student reporter, file for full expulsion.

The Wojo has made this school soft!

I love the obsession with press conferences people have gotten here.

Pay no attention to his unmotivated press conferences, vapid huddle speeches, consummately mediocre on-court results, or complete lack of NCAAT success - none of those things represent how good of a basketball coach someone is.

Did I get that 10,000 IQ logic correct, Wades?

Like I said, the obsession this board has come to have with post game press conferences is hysterical.

Exactly. Why does anyone expect Wojo to say anything but coachspeak at this point?

Agree. These press conferences do not help him in the slightest, but he's done it forever.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I watched a post game press conference other than when it's been posted on Scoop. And even those I almost always just skip over. Are people really thinking they're going to get some great in depth knowledge out of them?

Bill Bellichick is boring as hell. I'd be completely fine having Bill coach my favorite football team.

Mark Few is a pretty boring guy. If he wants to come to Marquette? Heck yeah, that'd be awesome.

Nick Saban is very boring. If I liked college football he'd be my first choice for coaching whatever team I liked.

Greg Popovich doesn't even pretend to be interested in answering questions from reporters. But I'd take him as a basketball coach.

But apparently people are worked up because Wojo is boring. Or because the MU administration is silencing the media? Lol.

The questions are pretty weak and predictable BUT his answers are worse......he really has no answers, I'd like to see the guy throw a chair or toss a table, show this fire that we've heard burns inside him.

The players do seem to like/respect him (see GT post-game vid) but at some point he will lose them too because he just seems lost in all this

And Giannis loved Jason Kidd. It's hard to know what the standard is when you are only familiar with one.

Not sure what postgame pressers you're watching but Belicheck and Saban are about as far as you can get from milquetoast coachspeak. They aren't giving away the gameplan each week (nobody is asking Wojo to do that) but to say their pressers are boring coachspeak is to not be paying attention. Few I can't speak for - I haven't seen his pressers.

I agree. Why would anyone with a brain give a crap about what Wojo has to say about #mubb? Obviously, the team doesn't. We should follow their lead.

These are lame questions and predictable Vanilla responses.

My obsession is for the day and presser announcing his tenure as our coach is mercifully over.

You're right. I was about to go to bed, but I just watched this riveting, thrilling, enlightening press conference and I'm now ready to run through a wall.

Like they'd like Lewis back sooner than later.

Actually Steele of the Journal asks questions that tries to bring an answer to the many issues, you're just not going to get an answer of any substance. He asked direct questions today about how inconsistent they are and issues with out of bounds plays, and he was just at a loss in answering both.

Not surprised you can't pick up the nuance of what Belicheck is doing in these types of pressers.

There's no nuance to Wojo's pressers.

Lots of nuance in being asked 3 times why they can't stop the run and the answer being "we gotta tackle better we gotta coach better." And being asked if he thought about changing things after they scored 3 times in their first 4 second half possessions, "nah, not really." Followed up with whether their opponent had made any halftime adjustments to have that success, "No, just a continuation of the first half pretty much."

Very nuanced indeed.

True.  Those were total non-answers.

Not only non answers, clearly struggling what to even say for his non answer.

O'Neill was great at post game remarks. He was pretty candid and wouldn't b.s. when he was p.o.'d about something.

Like I said - not surprised you don't understand the Belicheck nuance.
