You fail to recognize that fans don't have control of the coach or the game.  We can only be fans - or not.  Nothin tower says really matters (sorry tower...)
And you fail to recognize that Tower is a huge Wojo cheerleader. I am aware that fans do not have control of the coach. Wojos performance is what controls, and it is subpar. He has led this program to the bottom  and that needs to be pointed out.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

The team played hard in the second half. Three game losing streaks happen in this league. Have to make sure the streak  doesn't get to four games.

With all due respect this isn't three loses to the top teams in our league.  And what makes it worse is that in all of those games we played atrocious basketball for long stretches.  It's not neccesarily the losses themselves, it's about our level of play.

Marquette had not had a losing season since Mike Dukiet last season in 1998-99 before Wojo arrived. Potentially punching his 2nd such season this year
Bob Dukiet.

There is no question the level of play is sub standard. What has concerned me all season is the lack of consistently playing 40 hard minutes. We have Butler coming up and will need to put up 40 minutes of strong performance to win. They are hungry and have some young talent.

Let's not ignore we gave the Bucky game away until Trice bailed us out with a dumb foul. Creighton is the closest we've had to a complete game, and that was after getting down 13 in the first half.

Yes, 3 game losing steaks do happen... when your one of the worst teams in the league.

Herman, just because this has become typical doesn't make it right.

Looks like I did well by not watching the game and going hiking in the rain forest instead.

Looks like I don't even need to watch the game on DVR.

I like this team, too.  I like the players, the talent, the never give up attitude that has been displayed a few times this year.

The problem is that the coaching, the horrible defense, no offensive scheme, constant turnovers, turnovers off OOB plays, etc. costs the team about net -10 points per game.  That's tough to overcome.  I think with no coaching at all these guys would be free-er and better and with a good coach (and I believe a good coach can be net +10 points per game) these guys would really shine.

Why do you like a team that has only displayed a never give up attitude only a few times?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

St. John's went 6 for 13 on guarded three pointers (46%) and 3 for 6 on unguarded three pointers (50%).

They beat us slightly on the offensive boards. We beat them in turnovers (huge surprise). We beat them soundly in getting to the line. Wasn't enough to overcome St. John's hitting shots in the first half.

They did make some contested shots in the first half.  The problem is at one point in the game we were 3-17 from distance.  You add the fact that when we tied the game with 15 mins left, we proceeded to play an awful 5 mins and allowed  them to reestablish control of the game.  There's no consistency, and on both ends of the floor.

Have you seen the points off turnovers numbers? I felt like we were competitive in the turnover battle but didn't do nearly as much with the possessions created as St John's did.

That sums up how to approach MU men's basketball until that day finally comes when he's no longer the coach.

The points off turnover numbers were 19 - 19 so even. Though since we had less turnovers than they did, that means they were more efficient with scoring after a turnover. Also, a lot more of SJU's points off turnovers were in transition. A lot of Marquette's were after we pulled the ball out and ran a half court offense.

Posh is close to a "perfect" college basketball player in that he is good enough to start for 4 years and to be a huge contributor for all 4 years but probably will not be a serious threat to leave early for the pros.

I obviously don't "like" him because he plays for a conference rival, but I really like his game and the way he gets under the opponent's skin. I'd take a player or three like him on any team I root for.

I'll take the 2nd half effort for the rest of the season.  That's all I've got for this game.
