Didn't watch.

Was the excuse tired legs or we were rusty after not playing for 7 days?

Insights?

He seems to be at a loss on what to do, no answers....

great recruiter, good guy, clean program BUT cannot coach basketball very well.....should have hired an assistant who can coach for him, let Wojo do the recruiting and outside (tv/radio) program stuff

He said they "tried to get a game this week" which was him low key saying they were rusty.  He also said the team was "young in key spots" but made sure to mention that that wasn't an excuse!

Why would we want Wojo to do the tv/radio stuff?  I can't think of a coach who's worse at it.

Wojo should have stuck to being an assistant coach. Or become a head coach at a D2 school. Maybe something like Valdosta St. or Azusa Pacific would be more his speed.

Why would you do any of that when you can coach like a total jellyfish and simultaneously collect millions of dollars from a school you have no real connection to while ultimately being insulated from consequence by a bumblingly incompetent administration and a significant portion of clueless, in-denial “fans”?

Wojo won the lottery.

He put it in the team for lack of effort etc.   That’s probably right.  Slow, poor shot selection, no movement,  turnovers, dumb mistakes.  So... what do you do?  Hey wete not doing well anyway.  I tell them I’m starting the walk-ons and see the effort they put in.  You guys sit in the bench and watch.

There are some coaches who would do that Daniel. I was hoping he had the stones to do that to start the 2nd half after the listless start

He tried that against nova and it failed miserably. Although, I’d like to see him throw a few different guys out there like akanno and oso here and there for a few possessions with the core guys. I don’t think it would hurt and could give the team a new look.

I think it might be a teachable moment.   I say do it.  Nothing to lose but a game.  We’re losing with no effort so wth

He never talks about anything measurable.  If you can only manage what you are measuring... we learned a lot about that in basketball from Crean and Buzz:
- paint touches
- deflections
- Win the rebound battle
- make more free throws than they take

Now the advanced metrics show what combinations of players work best and also help scout the opposition.

There is no evidence that Wojo uses any metrics at all.  All we ever hear about is effort, energy, commitment, hustle, etc.

Seriously, I don't think he could get a 5th grade team organized to do a layup line.

I don’t know. Usually that stuff is done to provide a spark. I don’t think that’s this teams problem. They’re just coached poorly.

Watching Wojo talk after the game was very troubled by. He's clueless what to do. I wish it was different. But by his own admission he is just not a good coach. It seems that he is hurting the team instead of helping them win. It's sad.

Wojo doesn't even put the walk-ons in when MU is up big at the end, which hasn't been often at all this year.
