Markus did not play in Denver's first pre-season game.  He was the only guy on the bench that did not play (other than those that were injured)

Denver's second (of three) pre-season games is Wednesday night.  Their final pre-season game is Friday night. Both of these games are against the Blazers.

Does Markus see the floor this week?

The silver lining in the box score is that Juan played 10 minutes for the Warrios and tied for the highest plus minus on their team.

Juan will never be a star in the NBA, but he acquitted himself VERY well last year with his hustle, and defense, and intangibles to get that NBA contract.  The Warriors have always been a good spot for reasonably priced rotation guys to stick on. He likely could have a place there for his next deal in this situation unless he keeps his upward growth and parlays it into a bigger deal elsewhere.

Juan, Jimmy, Zar, Wes, Jae and Jimmy all boxed above their weights (and heights).  Switchables

How the Nuggets landed Marquette sniper Markus Howard, the NCAA's leading scorer last season

https://www.denverpost.com/2020/12/12/nuggets-markus-howard-marquette-ncaa/

The plan for Howard, who isn't subject to a 45-day NBA service limit due to relaxed rules this season, has yet to be determined, according to a league source. The Nuggets would be happy to have him spend time in the G League, but it's unclear what the developmental league will even look like this season. Barring something extreme, it's difficult to envision Howard leapfrogging any of the other guards on the depth chart at this point.

Howard's been a sponge ever since he arrived in Denver, impressing people with his work ethic and poise. In front of the camera, he's as polished and savvy as a 10-year NBA veteran. A digital media major in college, Howard said he could envision a career in sports broadcasting once he's done hooping. But that day, assuming he proves everyone wrong yet again, is years away.

"I know what I can do as a player," he said. "I know my abilities. My belief in myself is very high."

Markus in now for Denver against Portland.

10 questions: Will the Denver Nuggets rookies get playing time?

I can't remember a time where Denver had so many rookies on their roster...but will any of them play?

https://www.denverstiffs.com/2020/12/15/22176372/denver-nuggets-rookies-playing-time-roster-rotation-facundo-campazzo-zeke-nnaji-rj-hampton-nba

The other two rookies the Nuggets have on the roster occupy their two-way contracts. One is the undersized bucket getter who comes out of a solid college program after playing a full four years there. That's Markus Howard. Howard went undrafted but the Nuggets were quick to sign him after the draft was over. A career 21.6 points per game scorer at Marquette, the twenty-one year old brings deadly outside shooting in a 5'11" frame to the table. Because of his height limitations, Howard is really only able to play as the point guard or next to Jamal Murray so the Nuggets don't give up too much height on the defensive end and let's just say I don't anticipate a ton of shared minutes between the Nuggets max contract guard and their two-way contract guard. Because Howard is also not a traditional point guard there are a number of also non-traditional options in front of him in the event the Nuggets were to have an injury at the one. Barring a COVID outbreak or something crazy like the Magnificent Seven game last season, don't expect Howard to see the NBA floor.

Drained a step back 3. Nothing but net.

Vintage Markus on his first NBA bucket. Hard to get a feel as apparently the last 3-4 min were just get Bol Bol as many looks as possible.  But he made a couple nice passes and great to see him stroke it
