That'd be amazing except for him being a huge racist who nearly killed a guy for being Asian (I think Vietnamese?)

Welp.

That would be a little patronizing.

Agreed, but it would be kind of neat to have the mascot be female either way.

Apollo. As in the eagle has landed and tie into us retiring the number 11.

I like Jacques personally. If you wanted to tie it to a Marquette person, Hank would be a good one. Especially because he did so much for sports other than basketball.

MU Fan in Connecticut

Of all the suggestions so far, Jacques has grown on me the most.

SCREECH!

Do eagles actually screech?  Although, that sounds more like an owl's name.

A lot of Victor E. out there.

djorling

How about Gym, or Lanch, or Ard?

Hards Alumni

Talon?  It will most likely be something gender neutral and kid friendly.

The Washington Nationals mascot is an eagle named Screech, already.

The Mascot should be named Joan.

Actually, we should be known as the Warriors and have Joan of Arc as our mascot, but without that, we should name the bird Joan.

How about Willie, as the descendant of another Marquette mascot.

.....That would not go over well

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Iggy the Eagle (Ignatius, founder of Jesuits)

LMU's lion is Iggy so we're late on that one.

I like the suggestions for Jacques. But, having the #77 jersey on makes me think it's related to Al.

Maybe "Gold" wasn't a bad idea. Not sexist, racist or homophobic.

Goldie then
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

warriorchick

Have some patience, FFS.
