I'm not sure about that, there's this pandemic thing going on that may have had some influence on his decision.

Nah.
A lot has changed since then. Given the uncertainty over whether there will even be a college basketball season, this is the smart move for him.

Lol actually forgot about covid for a second 🤯 nvm

Not when he goes undrafted or gets cut, which is far more likely

If only there were  other professional basketball leagues out there were he could make six figures (and probably tax free, with housing included).

Mr. Sand-Knit

Wouldnt make 6 figures hes not at that level

Maybe he won't, maybe he will, maybe he'll get taken in the first round and end up the steal of the draft. Doesn't matter much now, the ship has sailed. Best of luck to the young man and glad he gave full consideration to Marquette in his decision-making process.

It was strongly suspected, but made official yesterday.

He must have received some feedback from some teams that he would be drafted.  We'll see.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Probably more likely he just thinks there's less than a coin flips chance there is a full NCAA season, or even a season at all.

That being said, I don't think this will turn into a wise decision for him if his dream is the NBA. He'll be overseas within a year and a half.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Which he may be fine with.  I wonder if a number of fringe one and done types might choose to go overseas if the college season ends up cancelled.

Wades (LOL)

The thought that some here think he's staying in the draft due to covid.  He was never coming here as I said months and months ago.

82, you there?

Congrats. Glad you find such joy in not landing a kid. Nice to see you back here.

My Mom always told me to get out of drafts when there's a virus going around.

Yep.  You were right on.  Your PM to me back in March was right on the money.  Meanwhile we had Newsdreams suggesting we were still in play in April, May, June.  Yet another time Newsdreams completely missed the mark.  Par for the course.

I'm here. I remember you saying he wasn't going to be coming to MU but were coy with what he was going to do, but maybe you did say he was opting to skip college.

Either way, congrats on Marquette not getting a good recruit. Definitely something for MU fans to celebrate.
