I repeat, DJO should not get a cut of the winnings if GE Alums win TBT.  Guy decides he wants to go play for Boogie Cousins's team, sees the GE Alum go to the finals last year, and jumps right back to GE Alums.  Had he stayed with GE Alum, they're looking at defending their title right now.

This, I have not heard buzz acknowledge he even coached at MU outside of inviting the best to VA Tech once.

He probably has PTSD from having to work under the Larry Williams / Scott Pilarz regime. I wouldn't want to risk accessing those memories either.

Relax. He can do whatever he wants. What a stupid take.

We wouldn't win this year without him so he should absolutely get a cut.

Very relaxed.  He cost every player on the team like $200K last year (as I believe the prize money was $2M last year).  The least he could do is give them each $10K of that back.

That's really not how it works.  He didn't cost them anything.  He exercised his free will and decided to play for a different team.

He owes them nothing.

It wasn't the coolest thing to do but definitely deserves money for leaving his daughter and doing this bubble thing.

Jerel "cost" the team. DJO just switched allegiances for a sec

Oh the irony...

But yeah, Arrieta juiced his ass off.  And good for him.  Earned himself a lot of money.

You deserve at least $30k from that cut TBH

Or the other guys could have played better and won.

I won't turn it down.

Could've.  But because DJO decided to leave the team you had an old man in Jerel in the game down the stretch when he shouldn't have been.

Completely.

Weird take for someone so squarely on the players side in the MLB to do a 180 on the biggest player incentive.

Sheesh!  People sure are uptight here.  We need this vaccine bad!  It's mostly a joke people!  I'm ragging on DJO for being a traitor and then immediately returning.  R-E-L-A-X.

you had an old man in Jerel in the game down the stretch when he shouldn't have been.
That was on the coach, not DJO. Jerel had been terrible all game, there was no reason whatsoever for him to be in the game at crunch time. Literally anyone else on the bench would have been better.

Luke Fischer hasn't been a big factor yet, but we'll need him if there's a 7-footer to match up against in the last 2 rounds.

Really dominant second half.

Got a bit complacent when the Philly guys were canning prayers but that was a fun W.

And we still havent really had our guys black out yet, just for stretches. Jamil has been clutch but ok, Cook been pretty mia.

Think we are set up pretty well

Or if they win with DJO this season, all the other players should give him a cut of the winner's share, as they showed last season they couldn't win without him.

Not really on offense, but D rebounding and passing he has been good.

A few people get concerned when they have big leads and win by not as much. I do not. I did not see the first game, but in this one, you could see how they were playing the Elam ending with a double-digit lead. The point is to score, not necessarily to defend, so it makes some sense to make the high risk - high reward play. A long three might miss and give the other team an easy rebound, but if it goes in, you get three points. Kicking the ball out on a break might lead to a better shot, but racing down and hitting it fast might end the game. They also missed their first two shots in Elam time, though they were pretty good ones. The winning basket was a put-back of what I thought was a hurried shot. So the other team briefly cut it to five, which does not seem like much, but it is when the leading team only has to score four to win it.  And as you observe, the other team had to throw up some desperation shots that went in.  Scores can be deceiving when the only point is to win as fast as possible.
