Currently re-listening to the audiobook of World War Z. It is one of the best audiobooks I've ever heard with an outstanding cast.

Related to covid...the first few chapters about the outbreak are uncannily similar to what covid has done.

Anyone else diving into books, movies, tv with similar themes?

"Station Eleven" by Emily St. John Mandel is extremely well written.

"The Masque of the Red Death" is rather poignant as well.

WW Z was based on a book written by Mel Brooks son, Max.

Good idea for a thread.

I think "The Stand" by Stephen King, especially the first few chapters, might seem a little too real right about now.

I've never read "The Andromeda Strain" by Michael Crichton, but the old movie from the 70s is pretty cool.

Never read it either, but I am on the waitlist for the e-book from the library.

I've read "The Masque of the Red Death." Excellent. Another great book in this genre is "The Plague," by Camus.

It's been a long time since I read "The Andromeda Strain," but I recall it being gripping but being unsatisfied by the ending.
