Former Louisville player Marques Maybin has a talk show and started one of those Facebook things where you have 15 dollars and get to pick a starting 5. Thought that might be fun to do for MU. Because Maybin's Louisville list looks like it went back about 25 years, that's what I decided to go with for MU. Without a ton of thought on who should cost how much, and I almost certainly missed someone that should be included, here's what I came up with.

5 - Wade, Crowder, Diener, McNeal, Howard
4 - Butler, Novak, Hayward, Matthews, Hutchins
3 - James, Wardle, DJO, Ellenson, Hauser
2 - Jackson, Crawford, Rowsey, Blue, Eford,
1 - Pieper, Buycks, J Wilson, McCaskill, Henry.

What'd be your starting lineup?

Correct answer.

You need a shooter

I'd go Wade, Butler, DJO, Jackson, Buycks

There's just enough shooting. Crowder, Vander and Dwight can all shoot it. But that is our weakness.

I really debated going with a true PG like Henry or Buycks over Vander but I think Markus with Vander and Wade would be able to handle the point and not force his usual turnovers while still be able to play off the ball with the other guards also handling.  Vander and Wade being able to get the rim at will would open up a ton of looks for Markus and Crawford as well as a stretch 4.  Add good ol' 00 and you have nice interior D and rebounding.  All in all a good crop of guys to pick from.

Wes, Butler, Hauser, Blue, Jackson.

I was about to include him, but graduated 26 years ago

Yeah, that's a good point. Move along, nothing to see here.

Henry is a good pick.  I couldn't pick a one year freshman over all the others though.

PG - Markus Howard (5)
SG - Dwyane Wade (5)
SF - Vander Blue (2)
PF - Jamil Wilson (1)
C - Rob Jackson (2)

Two first team All-Americans in the backcourt, two solid defenders from an Elite Eight team on the wings, and arguably the best center of the last 25 years in the middle.

That said...no Davante Gardner?

Jamil Wilson?

Davante couldn't defend a lick.

Jamil Wilson?  Over Butler, James, McNeal, Novak, etc???  No way.

Davante couldn't defend a lick.

I'm going to guess you don't understand how this works  ;D

MUDPT

Which Jackson we talking, cause if it's Marcus, I don't need a PG.

Yeah Jamil doesn't belong

Totally with you.

His best year he was under 12 pts, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.  No way.  So many ahead of him.

Gardner just missed Brew. One of the first guys I crossed off the list when doing a quick double check. Threw away the list at work earlier this morning. Last guy might have come down to Pieper and Gardner.

Wouldn't argue one bit if someone in Jack Berry Joker's Wild style went off the board for a 1 dollar pick.

Also debated making Wade 6 dollars just so someone would try and come up with a team without Wade.
