I don't agree with this. He's historically been a very high effort player. He looks mentally checked out (and he's not alone).

Ok, I'll back off from that but he has look checked out in the last several games.

I will report it. Brew is busy running the analytics.

I agree with this take 100%
Sorry sportsfans. Have to call it like it is. This team under Wojo is el stinko. Huge folds last 2 years down the stretch when you should be playing your best BB warrants a big time house cleaning and no amount of excuse making changes that. Time to burn the ships.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

WellsstreetWanderer

I don't think the kids are checked out as much as they are wound so tight they exude no confidence. Other teams are feeding off that and upping their game

keefe

It's not whether we win or lose. It's whether we play with heart.

Gosh darn it, I am just proud of our kids playing their heart out today.

Proud to be a Marquette Warrior Golden Eagle.

We start so many of our games trying to establish Theo and it always results in a bunch of turnovers and a deficit. It literally never works.

If you look carefully you can see he's slowly been taking control of the team, or at minimum has taken a much more active role in coaching the team. It's an interesting development.

Just give him the job, keep our recruits, and he keep leading recruiting like he's done anyway.

One thing though, I'm impressed with Stan.  He's obviously coaching his ass off, just pulled Koby to the side and talked to him.   I'm a fan of Stan, that's for sure

Totally agree. Stan has it. We'd be foolish AF to not give him a three year contract to see what he can do. We'd keep all recruits. He's charismatic AF. And he seems to be spot on in his assessments.

The much maligned letter the Hausers wrote a year ago was, in reality, extraordinary leadership. Players taking ownership in the program and trying to right the ship.

We are heading for disaster unless something is done after this season.

Markus Howard 80.0% eFG% in the first half. Rest of team: 34.8%. #mubb
The portal is NOT closed.

Warriors, Come Out and Playeeyay

Our offensive gameplan (for the past 127 games)...

4 guys standing around the three point line, Markus runs around, still standing around for the rest, then play 2 on 5 once he gets it.

Wojo teams are so easy to scout.  Never adjustments, no changes.  This team doesn't care, the players seem tapped out and sick of it

NickelDimer

If giving Stan the job meant keeping our recruits I'd sign up for that experiment. A change in leadership is needed end of story. Wojo has never been a good coach. Now he's a mediocre coach who doesn't even have the command of his team. Change is needed.

No some players just suck.

When we have Markus defer and try and build confidence for others we start off down 12-0 with 5 TOs in 4 min.

Markus is not the problem. Wojo never built a team. The Hausers knew it and left. Wojo needed to develop these players by playing without Markus in the buy in games early in the season.  He focused on Markus. It is too late now to start working on team confidence. You reap what you sow. THERE IS NO ON OFF SWITCH FOR CONFIDENCE. IT NEEDS TO BE NURTURED OVER TIME.

Have we reached rock bottom yet?

A loss to DePaul Wed. And a dance embarrassment should get 'ER done.

This is such an oversimplification of the real issues this team has

You are correct. All on the head coach.

Goose

Come on guys. I do not want to report you.

Markus has taken five shots and made three.  With Markus getting face to face defense, Elmore said to best with "MU is playing four on four on offense."

14 turnovers in one half will not win many games, especially with SJU hitting every outside shot.

SJU has no one taller than 6ft 7 and with Roberts out, no one in the middle.  Maybe they can pass it low without getting it picked off.

Yep. They had zero confidence Wojo would/could right the ship. I don't blame them a bit for leaving. How some of the ProJos tried to spin that positively for Wojo "manning" up was pure f'in comedy.

Sam was consummate team player. JJJ said he was his favorite player in college hoops as a freshman. JJJ shared ball so well too.    Yet Wojo gave the ultimate green light to one guy - albeit very talented, but you can't do that. Lose the whole damn team in the process.

harryp

Our only response  to the press is have Markus bring the ball up alone. Our only answer on offense is to give the ball to Markus and let him shoot -- not a sign of perparedness.
