Markus. If he stopped driving into the trees with no plan but to put up a shot he'd be unstoppable offensively. Did much better if driving with a purpose in the second half.

Sacar is showing some consistency. He's been very good lately.

Brendan played a good game.

I hope Koby carries the second half aggression going to the rim over. I'd much rather he get 2 or 3 offensive fouls while attacking than him getting into the same issue Markus does driving with no purpose and shuffling his feet. His defense is consistently good, though he does foul a bit too often.

Honorable Mention - Brendan Bailey

Gotta be Markus.

His wild drives and shaky at best 2 pt% is a little annoying. But he took over when needed once again and dropped 32-4-4.

Zero doubt it's Markus.

Though on the radio broadcast, Tony Smith picked co-MVPs of McEwen and Anim. He's now an official Scooper.

Anim did a lot of nice things offensively in the first half and at the start of the second, and he played good D throughout, so I don't think that's far out of left field. McEwen was very solid on D but he wasn't close to player of the game.

It's a classic case of "top player not named Markus."

A pretty easy choice here.

I actually liked Bailey's all-around game today for my runner-up, followed by Sacar and Theo.

Tony Smith .. I think he gave the game MVP to two .. Koby and Anim.

Sacar has now scored in double figures 5 games in a row and 7 of his last 8. This years team needs that consistency from him.....in the past we had more guys to pick up slack.

Bailey with 5 blocks.....very efficient 8 points and no turnovers again. He had 3 turnovers in the first game of the season......since then the most that he has had is 1......5 games he had zero.

Loose Cannon

Markus.  Each game it become so clear how bless we are he came to MU.  On the flip side how much of his absence can we cover next year.

Some of the turnover's were mind-blowingly bad, but it's gotta be Markus.  His 5 TOs would look a lot worse if others struggled as well.  9 as a team is very good.

I'll stick with my opinion on Gold.  He'll be in foul trouble within the first eight minutes.

Nukem2

Markus.  We really need to appreciate how he can change the complexion of a game.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I think I have to go with Markus but Sacar and Bailey were close for me.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Sacar was strong and BB was excellent for his role, but Markus gets it despite his 5 TO's.

Bacain. 12 points, 7 blocks, 2 steals, and 9 rebounds with no turnovers.

Markus Howard. When Markus plays well we do well. We need him to play at a high level to win in the BE.

GooooMarquette

Markus.

Runner-up a tie between Sacar and Brendan.

Side note: For those who might criticize Wojo's ability to develop players, just recall Sacar as a frosh. I thought he would develop into a solid role player/glue guy/defender, but I never expected the overall offensive development we have seen. The confidence, the ability to step back and hit 3s or blow past his guy to the hole. Much of the credit goes to Sacar's work ethic, but you gotta tip your hat to Wojo and crew as well.

Scoop Snoop

Markus.

Maybe we should add "runner up" or "honorable mention" to the SOTG. It seems like so often a second player really had a great game but misses out on SOTG.

Markus -obvious choice
Koby- on ball defense may be the best we've seen since DJ. Downhill on offense, creates for others, rebounded.  Last night was very encouraging.  Couldn't take him off the floor.
Sacar- love the consistency.  Defense was always there, has turned himself into an offensive threat.
Bailey- between him or Cain, if one of the 2 is hot, Wojo will ride him.  Very effective approach.

Would love to see one of our bigs become an offensive threat.  Jayce is the best rebounder, Theo the best rim protector, Ed solid at both.  All 3 have very little back to the basket game due to poor low post footwork.
