1.  Koby will get better.
2.  Sacar is in a nice groove.   It appears he will be the second scorer.
3.  Bailey and Cain continue to deliver.
4.  Theo getting abused on the perimeter is why it is difficult to play two bigs at the same time.
5.  'step on their necks'.   Three Markus misses and three defensive breakdowns.
6.  Good defense for MU, tough makes by ND.   NDSU did a really nice job of spacing the floor and neutralizing the help.  And road teams getting soft rims from 3?  WTH?
7.  Good offense by MU, missed good shots.   Really not that many bad shots.  Except anything taken by Koby from distance.   Odd misses on good looks.  Layups, little runners, post ups.
8.  Opportunities to blow it open.  Not seized
9.  NDSU did a lot of good stuff.   Kudos.
10.  Avoided the upset.  Set a record.  Festive holidays to all.

Announcers said at the end what I have been saying all along.   This is a talented team.   Even without the Hausers.

So long as you didn't take Marquette at -15

Feels like this will be a really good win on selection sunday
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

If our studs can start making their damn 2 pt shots we will be really tough to guard.

The potential is there to really get on a roll.

NDSU is a very well-coached team. Take the win, go home for the holidays and come back with a taste for Blue Jay in the new year.

Merry Christmas Scoopers.

Central Arkansas might suck

But we gotta slay them first.

I seriously hope by the Creighton game.  Maybe what Bardo said, go home, be with family and clear your head Koby.

Last 8 games:

Field goals: 12 for 57 (21%)
Threes:        5 for 34 (14%)

He has not made an outside shot in last two games and only one in last three (three pointer vs KSU).  All layups. Thats almost impossible.
Give him credit at the free throw line, he is a machine.

Wojo cut rotation in second half, sat Symir entire, Elliott saw a few and Johnson/Morrow a few.  Theo played majority.
Symir continued with no turnovers, so in last four games, 14 assists and zero turnovers.

Good win, solid opponent.  Merry Christmas holiday to all.

I thought the Warriors played well most of the game, and their better talent let them pull away at "winning time."

McEwen, Bailey, Sacar and Theo played some nice D.

I have no problem with a 14-point win over a decent opponent.

This i how i thought the team would look.  The movement and spacing on offense has been much better.
NDSU is a decent team

You could see why. He changed the way NDSU approached the paint. Several times they saw him and stopped short. With the others in, they drove to the bucket. He altered the few shots attempted while he was in the paint.

As good as Theo was at this today, I was very impressed by bailey and his use of his length today. 5 blocks was impressive. Will need all that against the good 4s in the big east.

Good players find ways to positively effect the game even when they are not playing their best.  Koby is in a terrible funk shooting the ball, but a line of 12/7/3 while only taking 7 shots, and holding Shahid to 9 points on 12 shots and 2 TOs with 0 assists is a performance I will take more often than not.

First off, very solid title thread Tower.

I agree that this game being so close for so long was more the result of NDST playing well than us playing poorly...but it's still concerning to me. The bison were without two starters tonight, would have felt more comfortable if we dominated them.

Sy got the big hook today. He got caught looking around for his man....as his man was hitting a wide open three. Pretty sure he didn't play after that. Team defense is often a struggle for freshmen, he will get it with time.

If I'm the coaches, I'd whip balls at Theo, Ed, and Jayce until they can catch them cleanly.'

Koby needs a lid lifter so badly...but still cracked double digits.

5 games in a row of double digit scoring for Sacar. He may be our second scorer. If Koby can find himself....plus the occasional big games from Bailey, Cain, and Greg, I think we'll be okay on offense.

Kudos to NDSU.  Well coached, good system, lots of solid play.

Sacar was strong.

BB 5 blocks already mentioned but wow.

Koby is this close to having the breakout game he needs.  Liked his confidence.

NDSU is a very good basketball team.  Too often casual fans get caught up in 'name' Power 6 opponents.  Their 5 out style was a serious challenge for MU.  We played a solid game not turning the ball over very much by our standards and by playing some solid D.  This was no cupcake victory.  Well done.  Merry Christmas fellas.

Plus they had a guy named Rocky. That's always tough to overcome.

NDSU never looked nervous.   Winning a play in game last year, going toe to toe with Duke, and returning almost everyone means they aren't intimidated.    They ran their stuff and made some shots.   If they get and stay healthy, they should beat up the Horizon league.

The Bison were fine but let's not get carried away. They lost by 11 to Indiana State, 7 to Stony Brook, and 6 to Utah Valley and were down 2 players. They're a team that would win maybe 2 games in the BE this year.

Jockey

I think this game showed us why we need Theo on the floor 30 minutes a game (if fouls allow).

Ed was terrible. Jayce may have even been terrible-er. I was one of the very few here who weren't thrilled or impressed when Jayce signed. He has done nothing to change my mind so far.

Other than those two, MU played very well against a good Mid-Major who played as well as possible. They made a lot of tough shots against good defensive pressure.

The one area, though, on defense that has to get better - as there will be a couple of times this year where it will be needed - is their press. It looks right now as though it is designed only as an "inconvenience" rather than as an effort to create turnovers.
