Was wondering if it was ever going to happen for BB.  Great to see.  Can just see him growing in confidence.  Wojo has stuck with him and given him a pretty long leash throughout his time at MU.  Hopefully he can build off of this.

Our defensive effort has been really good.  Maryland looks to be the most athletic/physical team we've played..and sound strategy to crowd Markus..and selectively switch on screens.

? It’s the beginning of his 2nd season after not playing ball for two years. Long leash, wondering if it will ever happen? Wow.

I had and I have high expectations for Brendan moving forward. Let’s give him a chance and some time, geez.

This is pretty ugly. That said MD is playing the perfect game. I am not that unhappy with the effort MU is playing with. I think Theo is shocked that he has been outplayed and outmuscled. I hope he brings it in the second half.

Before a meltdown occurs, remember Md. is #5, has a great point guard in Cowan, lottery pick in Jalen Smith and a projected first rounder in Wiggins.

Markus way off, too many turnovers and 21 points terrible.

Theo put up three shots, all blocked.
Morrow terrible.
But real problem has been Koby.  Major regression last three games.

No meltdown from me. Getting 2 wins was a successful tournament and any reasonable fan would agree.

I’m not surprised on Koby at all. His play early in the year was an aberration.

We need Koby to be an above average college player to beat good teams without circus Markus. Koby been really bad this tournament.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Wow.   Koby.    WTF is this kid doing??

How is "putrid" Jayce Johnson doing?  Looks like he is playing at least average to me, or better....but you know...

Really? You sure about that? Our offense is bruuuutal right now. Can't get anything going.
It’s a credit to their defense imo. It’s been downright incredible

When MH isn't going crazy, this team isnt very good, and really tough to watch. Thankfully, there is NFL on.

Lots of tired legs.Everything is short.

Bailey can be dangerous if he can make it more often than not on the Hauser pick and roll 3 pt.

Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Wojo is running nothing for him other than a dribble handoff or a simple PNR. It’s an issue

He's run a number of other plays. Maryland is switching on any off ball screens, and doubling on any on ball screens.

They are not helping off him, which should leave the drive open for anyone else.

When they double on him it has left a few open for wide open shots/drives. With the exception of Bailey, no one has taken advantage of it.

Maryland with a really good game plan on Howard.

McEwen needs less minutes. I’ve been saying that for a while. Give Torrence a chance or something.

Koby is struggling, but he's much further along than Symir. We need Koby to play well to have any kind of chance to make any noise this year.  Markus can only take us so far.

MD is playing very well, and probably shooting well above their season average of 31% from 3 at 50% this game.  Our D has been fairly good IMO.

Was a fun couple of games to start the tournament. Winning 2/3 is nothing to be upset about.

It’s amazing how often he travels....how has this not been fixed by the coaching staff yet?? If it can’t be rectified he needs to sit. We’re fine rolling with Theo and Jayce.

I’d be tempted just to stick Markus in the corner and let them play 4 vs 4 and open up some space, but nobody else can get to the rim.

Maybe a lineup of Markus, Elliott, Sacar, Bailey and Jayce? Our 4 best slashers and Jayce has been the pick of the bigs.

Sorry sports fans. MU is a one trick pony with Howard, and when he is off or shut down, MU goes down. My God, what will Wojo do without him next year.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

Sorry you took offense to my post.  It was meant to be complimentary of both Wojo and Brendan.

What did we do on the off day? I blame today on whatever it was.

Jayce can rebound.

Great to see bb making shots and plays.

Can't get my mind around what Ed is doing. It's as if his bare feet are stepping on hot coals every time he touches the ball.

Some of our post feed (attempts) are putrid.

Big comeback on deck, legggoo

I dont think its unreasonable to expect this game to be somewhat competitive. If it turns into some 35 point clown show blowout though, I wont blame people if they "meltdown"

To me, this game will be a perfect example to look back on next year. Woj is going to have a vastly different roster next season with ideally better post options. JWags mentioned it, but this weave/PnR ain’t working.
