Championship 258k

Any idea how this (and the semifinal numbers) compare to semis/finals in past years? With no sports I’d think it’d be higher, but with the OSU fan base being large and Sideline Cancer not being affiliated with a college I think maybe that’d even it out.

Viewership fell a third from last year (385K) and 2% from 2018 (263K)

**I hear some say things might be higher with no sports, yet with no major sports, I wonder how many even knew about the TBT. Sports networks have been a ghost town since March.**

Yeah I think a lot of this is because ESPN can't promote its own product.  And a 6:00 PM CDT tip doesn't help either.

I think these events are good programming for ESPN . The event promoter has been able to achieve solid sponsorship over the years and is pre selling enough ads to make it worthwhile financially for all.

Yup, even I forgot about the final - just don't turn on the TV these days.  And you're right about the tip - by the time I remembered there was a game "this evening" - it was already over.  If there's a singular sporting event going on - all the tips should have been in prime time.  Not during the work-day on weekdays.

Personally I suspended Youtube TV as soon as March Madness was cancelled. I only use it for live sports, I have all the TV I could ever want between Netflix and Hulu ($20 a month). I thought about reupping for TBT but paying $65 for only 1 guaranteed game was just too much for me. If there was more meaningful sports on TV, it would have been worth the investment.
