Was he singing “Can’t You See”?

Lol. No. It was actually pretty funny. We hit the beer tent instead.

Why you can’t stand all rappers?  Pretty broad brush ya have there.  Every genre of music has a-holes, but me thinks when you call out one genre for being entitled or “hot $hit”, ya might want to check some biases you may have.

Swag and hype is probably the biggest factor in being a rapper, especially if you're from TPain's era.

But I'll check my biases

Next year, MU needs to bring in an old-school, dependable rock band like Guns n Roses.

Again, swag and hype.  Your language to describe a certain genre of music is curious.

Only video I could find:

https://twitter.com/_erijayy/status/1180372146658430977?s=21

Wait, so he came out with a "WISCANSIN" red letter background and wearing a red T-Shirt?  WTF?  Did anybody tell him that was a bad idea?  Did he think he was in Madison?

I don't know if you're trying to imply that it's racial because that's what seems to be the insinuation but just to knock that off I'll happily listen to NWA, Nas, OutKast etc. I'll also happily listen to Lenny kravitz, prince, Hendrix, a lot of blues artists, etc. so again just going to nip that racial insinuation in the bud right now.

I'm referring to the modern over produced rap that literally is all swag and hype

It’s a reference to one of his lyrics, not about UW.

You said this not that long ago:

What a dbag this is why I can't stand rappers, they think they're wayyy too hot $hit. Dro we have to pay if he doesn't finish a set?

I will take you at your word, and not trying to paint you as anything, but declarative statements like the one above can be misconstrued.  But even your last statement, that ALL modern rap artists are like this.  Maybe just open your eyes a bit more.

Even if the Wisconsin lyric is part of a song, it was still a bad idea to use it in conjunction with the red and white color scheme.

From what I heard from a couple students basically he played a bunch of new music that no one knew. Even mixed Buy you a drink with a new song that was a weird combo. Ended up playing for 20 minutes left the stage and came back 5 minutes later but no one was feeling it anymore and left to go get late night breakfast.

Also the students were told that T Pain would be on at 9 but they didn’t start introducing the teams till 9:15 so T Pain didn’t come on till like 10:20.

Maybe MU should have just done the stripper pole thing like Kansas.

So after being caught up in in an FBI probe into corruption and bribery, and after the NCAA issues a notice of allegations involving three Level I violations, Kansas decides that Snoop Dogg should help launch the 2019 season.

That's Snoop Dogg, as in, the megastar rapper who's a former gang member.

And a convicted drug dealer.

Who's best known for his sexist and misogynistic lyrics.

Who's been banned from entering three different European countries.

Who's an award-winning porn producer.

This is the guy you decide to bring into your showcase event? And then Bill Self has the sheer audacity to claim that Snoop's act -- complete with pole dancers and a money gun -- wasn't "the direction that anybody at our school would want"? The same Bill Self who denies NCAA claims of lack of institutional control?

Come on now. There's hard to believe. And then there's just plain bulls**t.

They should ask for a refund from 'T Pain' AND 'Lovely the Band'.   Lovely was horrendous, I think the lead singer thought he was getting paid by the F-word.  I was praying he would pull a T-Pain and walk out early!

On the other hand, Alessia Cara is VERY talented and put on a good show at the FiservForum, once the stage was fumigated following the Lovely performance.

Yeah, and there were kids in the 80's who wished they had brought Springsteen to campus.

Springsteen played at the Arena twice in '78 with his Darkness tour.

For the second show, around Thanksgiving, tickets went on sale when Radio Doctors on 3rd and Wells opened at 9:00 in the morning.  I stood in line from 11pm, first in line.   Waited 10 hours and by the time the doors opened there where 4 additional people in line.   Not quite the widespread enthusiasm I had expected.

I wouldn't worry about......Probably trying to do self-promotion......

Just saw that Pitt has Wiz Khalifa at their Madness event tonight.

Kinda hope that RJ doesn’t have “current relevance of Madness entertainment” on his pro/con list.

“Not very good” rappers don’t have multiple Grammys and a dozen Top 10 singles. I’d agree he’s past his prime and acted like an ass, but using it to pretend like he’s a nobody or “bad” is absurd. Dude is hands down one of the most influential artists in hip hop and R&B in the last 15-20 years.

Wiz hasn’t done much of anything lately either. He hasn’t had a hit single since the track with Charlie Puth from Fast 5. He’s just from Pittsburgh so it makes sense, otherwise he wouldn’t have created a major buzz either
