MU NCAA Seed/Site/Opponent Prediction

An 8 seed is possible.  Marquette is historically under-seeded, so take what you think is a reasonable seed (5 or 6) and drop it by a seed or two.  I think Marquette is a 5 seed, so I dropped them two lines to a 7 seed.

We've had pretty damn generous seeds since 2009.

It's not just the fact we are an 8.

It's us being an 8.
Des Moines being a 1 seed pod
Them putting Marquette and Minny in such a prime location relative to whoever the 1 seed is.

The combination was of all 3 things makes it basically an impossible scenario.

I don't know about generous seeds, but one thing they always seemingly have is a tough as hell draw...every year. Whether it's a bad matchup, or playing a team in their back yard...why can't MU ever be the team that gets the relatively "cake" draw to the Sweet 16??

Let's see if I can get to 5...

• No way we are an 8.
  
• No 1-seed would play in Des Moines. Those teams will be in Columbia, Columbus, & maybe Jacksonville.
  
• The only 1 that might play there is a Michigan team, & it's unlikely they will match Minnesota with a second round Big 10 team.
  
• Both us & Minnesota would have a geographical advantage on any potential second round 1-seed in Des Moines. Not a strict guideline, but unlikely.
