In light of Saturday's Senior Day and one of the three honorees being Cam Marotta, I got to thinking about some of the walk-ons that helped the program over the years.
Who are some that stand out to you?
I remember Bruce Hayes joining the Tony Smith-led team in 1990 and providing valuable minutes in the backcourt during KO's first season. He also played the following season. Were there other walk-ons who contributed as much on the court?
With that said, Cam has been great -- enthusiastic and a real benefit to the team and university. I wish him and all of the seniors well. Their futures are bright!

Marcus West

I forgot he was a walk-on.  Wasn't it because he had a scholarship for soccer or something like that?

Juan Anderson's Mixtape

Chris Crawford,  IIRC, gave up his scholarship after getting a baseball contract.

I thought Marcus West had to give up his soccer scholarship for a basketball one.

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me." Al McGuire

Rob Hanley when Travis went down.

But yeah, Jake Thomas was the best in my time.

I thought Al gave Delsman a schollie his sophomore year.
Ludum habemus.

In 02-03 he shot 100% from 3 and 100% from the line. I can't believe he didn't play more, super efficient.

He did, but #23 walked on as a freshman and then earned his schollie and became a very valuble part of the rotation

Exactly the same thought I had when someone mentioned Mr. Delsman. I had thought he and McGuire had physically goteen into it, but I may be mis-remembering.
