An opportunity to lock up the 1 seed for the BET tomorrow night with 3 games to go after that.  Big road opportunity.

Looking for a big game from Markus again (as long as we don't punt on this game and rest him!).  Hoping the Hausers carry over their shooting from the Providence game.  Nova will shoot it better this time around, but I'd be shocked if Sacar and Markus are the only 2 to make a 3 point basket tomorrow night for Marquette.  Win the rebounding game on the road and limit the turnovers.  Defense travels.  Let's grind out a win here.

Biggest game of the season.

I'm looking forward to many defensive traveling calls on Nova.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Counterpoint:

Yup.  Which means the game in front of you is the most important game of the season, since you can't play a game 2 games ahead and you can't play a game that's already been played.

So after the season is done, all the games are played, and there is no next game for the 18-19 Marquette Golden Eagles...is it possible for fans to look backwards and identify games that were more important than others in the completed season?

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

After the season you should be focusing on the first opponent of next season.  That is the most important game of next season.

Sure.

Fortunately for us our season is not over.

Excellent.

So can you assume from now on that whenever anyone says "I think this game (not the next one) is the most important" they mean "I am predicting that when the season is over and we look back at all the games we will be able to pick out this one at as one of the most important"?

I wouldn't assume anything.

Nova is the biggest game of the season.

MUfanatic45

On the bright side, at least for this game he's pretty accurate about this being the biggest game of the season to this point.

Biggest game of the season is unequivocally on a Monday night in Minneapolis.

End of discussion.

Can't get there if you don't win the games in front of it.

Technically we can still get there even if we lose 5 more games.

Yet you can't if you don't win a first, second, third, fourth, and fifth round NCAA Tournament game.

Can't get to them without taking care of the games in front of you.

Where am I getting?  To the point that a theoretical game that you don't even get to play without having success in the regular season (or conference tournament) is more important than the actual games that allow you to get to the Tournament games?

Yup, not getting there.

We literally can get to the tournament even if we lose out the regular season.

We can go 0-31 and get to the Tournament?

I guess by going 4-0 in the Conference Tournament you're right, but I find that highly unlikely to happen.

The NCAA tournament games are no longer theoretical.  We are a lock.

We can lose our final 4 regular season games, a BET game, and still have NCAA games.

Hopefully Wojo and the team aren't thinking like you are.
