Seeing if there's any interest out there on betting that MU will win the NCAA tournament?

Current odds are at +4500.  Meaning, If we all chipped in and put $1000 total on MU, we could potentially win $45,000 and split the winnings evenly.

I'm thinking $10/person.

Who's in?  ;)

I would put in for a final four run but not winning. I think that Three of our losses have proved matchup issues can destroy us.

I'm not sure what the Final Four odds are.

Marquette will win it all.

Now that my bracket is mostly set, I'll probably clean the garage.

Odds have dropped quite a bit.  I got them at +7500 in Vegas 2 weeks ago.

I'm no gambling expert, but I'm pretty sure that also means you could personally put $10 in and win $450  ;)

I have already bet $10 million on MU, and that's roughly 1/200th of my personal wealth, so I probably don't want to bet anything else.

Oh wait ... sorry ... had a vision I was MUFINY for a second there.

Am I missing the point of this? Couldn't you bet $10 yourself and get the same payout but  without having to trust someone with 45k if you win?

This seems to be the case with him and at least 5 to 10 other members here.

When I saw that thread topic title that is exactly what came to my mind. Thought we were getting a nice resort style pool . Disappointing.

Or put $1000 in yourself, although with these odds you may as well just light $1000 on fire.

In. So let me guess, I am supposed to mail you my $10 and then you just take care of the rest and send me my $450 when we win it all?

If you had said, "gambling is for losers", I would accept your answer. You strangely seem to be equating odds as a strict function to assess probability of victory. They are nothing of the sort. They are merely a reflection of how a pool of bettors have assigned these probabilities. 99 "smart money" gambling experts can get involved in a pool and make an eventual winner  a 1-9 prohibitive favorite. All it takes is one well-heeled idiot to make a giant bet on another entry with very little likelihood of prevailing to create a massive overlay on the experts' choice , and a 1-9 shot can now go off at 3-1. Its  chances of winning the game, race, tourney, match etc have not gone up or down....only its price, or odds, has changed.

Of course, the converse happens all the time, and the experts are way off the mark...creating an undeserved prohibitive favorite. 44-1 on MU is not that inviting, given how much has to go right to win an NCAA championship. If you somehow think they are a better bet at 20-1, have at it...just know you've created value elsewhere in the pool of 64 teams.

Zenyatta has a lot....a lot... of ground to make up. She gets there from here she'd be a super horse......what's this.....Zenyatta hooked to the grandstand side....Zenyatta flying on the outside....this....is...un-belieeeeeevable!...looked impossible at the top of the stretch...

I put $20 on them in the summer at 200-1 while in Jersey. I'm hoping for a Nevada-Marquette final since I put $20 on them at 8/1 back then.

You got tremendous value on MU. Curious, though, as to why you bit at 8-1 on the Wolfpack? I read where they opened at 40-1 and then got the recruiting good news and that their star was returning. Musselman staying says a lot too. To stay at a mid-major with the job he's done...wow. Local money in Nevada came down heavy on the Pack.

I don't touch horse racing futures, as the likelihood of an injury and subsequent scratch is just so high.

I hold no "grudge" against you.

You said something stupid -- that Sacar was "the worst 2 in the BEast by far" -- and I called you out on it. You didn't like being called out on it, so you fired back at me. But I had facts on my side.

Sadly, you don't like it when facts -- and your own words -- are used against you. So you made some crack about wishing I was dead, which earned you a little Scoopcation.

I don't need to have a grudge against you. I have the truth!

I will say that I have a new-found respect in you because you don't take kindly to a certain other multiply-banned Scooper's incessant BS, so well done on that.

My one recommendation to you is that you think before you fire off a post, especially if you're going to rip into a Marquette player -- and double especially if it's one who works as hard as Sacar does and gives everything he has to help our team win.

Have a nice evening, TSN.

You are delusional if u believe what u type.  U have used the "worst 2g by far" in every post that u could possibly manage, even if it had nothing to do with the topic.  Ive credited Sacar on many occassions on stepping up his consistency n contributions this year.  U do the same with many other topics n posters.  Own it bro, a little respect may follow.
