any Ventura county, CA scoopers?
« on: February 10, 2019, 07:50:49 PM »
on the plane back from NMD randomly sitting next to an alum from the OC, I got the bright idea to reach out on here to see if there are any scoopers local to my wife and I. we've been to the LA club events in the past, but they end up being really far time wise just to watch a game.

this year we reached out to Marquette to help set up 2 game watchings in thousand oaks. MU said there are greater than 400 alumni in their database in the area, but obviously our turnout has been less than that which we expect and understand. we have seen a few car decals around town, I've run into a few alumni at work, but they seem to be less interested in the basketball side of things which is cool too.

just thot I'd see what the scoop demographic is like out here

He sure did.  Great to meet you Nate.  Random as heck as the UC Santa Cruz banana slugs men’s v-ball team was in the back of the plane with us, but was happy to have MU alum sitting next to me.  Great guy, enjoyed the conversation.  Such a small world after that conversation.  Safe travels up to VC.

PS, my son was going to 7th floor to introduce himself to your sibling.

"I hate everything about this job except the games, Everything. I don't even get affected anymore by the winning, by the ratings, those things. The trouble is, it will sound like an excuse because we've never won the national championship, but winning just isn't all that important to me.” Al McGuire

Any thread that makes its way to the UC-Santa Cruz Banana Slugs is a winner in my book.

Like wise! The drive was only an hour, which is way better than when it's rush hour. And yeah, my sister said they ended up following each other on instagram.

I was also looking at my post history, and saw where I agreed with you in December about feeling guilty when Howard goes video game mode because he could involve his teammates better. It was really funny to me to connect those dots that you were that previously random internet MU fan.
