Amazing -- AMAZING! -- that we got nothing offensively from the Hausers and beat Nova.

A-freakin-mazing.

If you had told me before the game that we'd get 4 points from the Hausers, I mighta thought we'd lose by 20.

So nice to have a team that has many ways to beat opponents. SO NICE!!

Alot of those fouls were warranted. At least arguably. Tired of people acting like marquette never commits a foul. Sure there are some games where it was bad like at xavier but today no. Come on..

Some of them are fouls sure, but Theo's is the type of guy where when he fouls someone, everyone in the building knows it.  He doesn't do the Fischer Heldt ticky tack fouls.  When he gets a clean block and the whistle still blows, and this has been happening all season, I can understand if he starts to get frustrated.

Whew.

Agree Wojo needs to rethink his end of game O.
The D at the end was good. When Booth went to pass, someone (Sam?) got just a slight deflection. Need the Stevens Point boys to get back from their break (although I agree with a poster above that Sam's D was laudable).

Hoping that the hold will reinforce their desire to play tough D.
He definitely needs to rethink end of game. Markus is a great offensive player, but the last two games should clearly show what to do. The opponent knows it will be the Markus show, so it must be given the last shot to Sam. Markus will be double or triple teamed so give it up to Sam. He is the only other guy that can make that clutch shot, or get fouled and make the FTs.

That’s two games in a row we’ve relied on that. Our offense is WAY too good to have that as our first option in critical situations. Wojo has work to do there.

The way our offensive played today ( Two players combined for 56 ) and you don't like Markus having the ball in that last 30 + seconds.  The rest of the team scores 10 and Sam missing an open 3 in the last minute.  With that I'm going with the Markus.

Sam was offensively AWOL today, and Joey has been on the milk carton for two games now.

Markus. Period.

Exactly.   Based on the way everyone played TODAY, who else should have had the ball?     Marquette had the ball where they wanted, Markus isolated with no help available.    Defender made a nice play.       Sam had just thrown up a couple of scuds.    Joey was MIA all day.    If Sacar touched the ball, he would have been fouled.    A little surprised that Nova didn't play hack-an-Anim.      I am not a fan of the flat 1-4 set, and don't think it is MU's best look.       But if Markus and Sam run a pick and pop and the ball gets passed to Sam, based on how he played today, is that a good thing?

There was only one really bad one. His 4th I think. His 5th definitely was a foul

Yep.

We need to get Sam right, and I'm pretty sure we will. And hopefully Joey, too.

With those 3 all on our game, we're damn hard to beat. Today, only 1/3 and we still won. Peeps need to appreciate that.

On Jay...

F word was used many times as he was taking people out...

A lot of throwing hands in the air, half smile like I can’t believe sacar made that shot...

Constantly on refs on 3 seconds, Markus push offs ..

Can’t say he is above the noise...

Felt like he was ripped off every call

Not saying anything different than most coaches but not classy

Box score.   Markus and Sacar combine for 56.     The entire rest of the team, 10.

Perfect reason why only Howard had the ball in his hands at the end. Sam and Joey were no-shows on offense the entire game.

Undefeated when Marcus scores more than 20 points.

Ever watch Al on the sidelines? He made Jay look like a piker. Jay Wright is a class act. He gets it done on the court. Jay always has nice things to say about MU. The dude is a winner.

Hated the Markus iso at the end.   Run the damned offense.

This. It's easy(and fair) to blame Markus for getting picked, but Wojo gave him way too much time just standing there dribbling with the assumption that Nova would lay back. IMHO you only do that if you have an A+ ball handler. Markus is OK, but not a marquee ball protection guy. Should have at least let Sam or Sacar touch the ball too.

Again, not saying jay isn’t a winner or like al...

He might be classy in the public eye but a street fighter who may in today’s environment, punch just below the waist as the next guy....

Survival.

Huge win.

And I won money.

Had Nova -2 for my usual win/win.
You lost, if you bet on Nova at -2.

But this was a huge win for this program. I never doubted a win until the last possession and then I was at worst unsure. We deserved to win. Love this team
No the previous game was a broken play. Today who else? The Husers were no reliable and Sacar had a great game but he is not wired for that type of play, plus his FT shooting (no matta) is not what you want for a final play.

I never said Markus shouldn’t be the one taking the shot but dribbling the ball for 30 seconds then creating a shot isn’t offense and we’re much better than having to resort to that
