We R Final Four

brewcity77

8-2, though I may amend that if we win tonight. In order of likelihood, I think at Villanova, at Butler, at Providence, at Seton Hall are the most likely losses. I know Nova will be tough at home, but I think we go undefeated at Fiserv Forum this year.

Otule's Glass Eye

I'm thinking they lose at Nova, and our next 3 games is the 3 I'd pick the other loss from. Saint Johns seems to have our number. Butler tonight and Nova at home will also be very tough games.

LoudMouth

Shocked by all the 6-4 guesses. At the beginning of the year I would have gladly taken 13-5 in conference but now seems like a slow down and that is definitely not the way we want to be heading into postseason.

I think people are still shocked and unsure of just how good this team is.

DarkWarrior

At 6-4 we do not win the Big East. Maybe we win it at 8-2 but Villanova looks very good right now!

I voted 6-4 just because I think that our record in close games will eventually catch up to us, and we'll drop at least one we all peg as a win.  We also have Nova twice, and I'm also concerned about the CU return trip.  They're firmly on the bubble now, and a will likely have a huge chip on their shoulders after how our last Omaha trip ended, a Q1a win would likely get them over the hump and into the field.  They will come ready to play.

The team has snuck out a few. Always expect a bit of a correction given some metrics. That said, current vsin says we are 81 on the power ranks (nova 83). 85 and above seems to be "ncaa contender" level.

This is exactly right...people are shocked but they shouldn't be...This team is TALENTED, been saying that since the beginning...maybe now that they are a top 10 team, people will actually EXPECT them to win games like tonight instead of EXPECTING them to lose. Top 10 teams win games like tonight against a lessor opponent.

Preseason I thought 15-3 would win it for sure, but I agree on Nova. They look capable of 16 or 17 league wins. They do have a 3-game road trip coming up, though, and that's part of finishing with 5/8 on the road.

That said, I think tonight could be tricky for them. DePaul has been so close so many times, including holding a double digit second half lead at the Pavilion. This will be a really crucial night of Big East basketball.

MomofMUltiples

Can't be regular season champs unless we beat Nova.  I'm up for 10-0.

7-3 the rest of the way. I think Nova will squeak out the regular season BE title.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I said 6-4. Like others I think our close wins will catch up with us eventually. Plus, the second half of the conference season is much tougher than the first. We also haven't had our "WTF" conference loss yet.

Though...preseason I pegged us for 13-5. That was with losses at Georgetown and at X. So if the rest of my preseason predictions are right, we should go 8-2

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

CTWarrior

I picked 7-3.

I'd be surprised if we lost at home to Creighton, Georgetown or Butler, and surprised if we won at Villanova.  So 3-1 in  those games and 4-2 in the other 6 and finish the Big East at 14-4.

The way Nova is playing,  I'm worried about getting swept.  6-2 in the other games would still be a good result.

A split with Nova and 5-3 in the other games would also be a good result.

I see willie chimed in with 5-5.  ;D

He's probably upset that was the worst option available.

BM1090

I said 6-4. I would change to 7-3 or 8-2 with a win tonight. I think we lose @ Butler, @ Nova, @ PC and then either @ SHU or slip up once at home. I'm thinking our close game results have to flip at some point

#UnleashSean

I'm going 9-1. I believe a loss at butler or Nova is very likely. We're going undefeated at home.

BM1090

For those who think 6-4 is unrealistic, Kenpom has us finishing up the year at 13-5 in conference.

monkeyman34

I went 7-3, think we lose @Butler, home vs Nova, and @ Nova.

Are you sure about that? Because the way things are going in New York, I think it's a very realistic possibilty that in a month we'll be saying WTF about having lost by 20 to St John's.

No conference road loss is truly a WTF loss.   Especially this year.
