I'm not sure if it's a running inside joke or what but my god it's embarrassing how many people still spell "Markus" WITH A C. WTF.

Markus star of the game. Heldt right behind him but not because of his numbers, but because of his heart.

He's still so young. People will figure it out when he gets a little older.

Initial reaction was Joey, but then had to reconsider Markus. Heck, even Sam is in play. This is when the mods earn their paychecks.

I usually have trouble picking between Sam H and Markus because Markus usually does more good things and more bad things.  Today I would say:

1.  Markus
2.  Joey
3.  Sam

This was the closest one of the year to me.

I was originally going to give Joey the nod. Both him and Sam were very efficient and did not force anything.

But I just have to reiterate to myself how special it is to have Markus. We're so used to him putting up these numbers every game. Yes, too many turnovers are his downfall. But man, some of those threes he hit with X swarming him and a  few ticks left on the clock...the moves to get in the lane and nail clutch floaters. He is truly an amazing offensive player. More than likely the best scorer at MU when all is said and done.

The fact that we have a handful of guys to choose from is a testament to the balance and depth of the team. Anyway I vote Markus.

Yes, we can’t underestimate what Markus does.  We seem to expect it, but what he does is really special.  Though, we do need to acknowledge what the other guys did.  A team effort overall, and Markus probably agrees with that.

Truly a 3-headed SOTG today. With the Milkman the 6th man award winner and Lelito with the Bench Cheerer award and Wojo for Coach of the game.

Can’t argue against Sam, Markus or Joey for SOTG but I’m going with Joey today. He was efficient and clutch.

But All 3 were big-time Studs!!

Markus for me as well. And I tend to be one who like to see a wide variety of SOTGs.

And the MU kid in the student section

Wojo agrees with you. https://twitter.com/steve_wojo/status/1089300392557592576

While @HeldtMatt was our MVP on the court, @MarkCurran03 was the hero in the stands. @JimmyButler jersey looked great in the Xavier student section. Thank you to all the fans who made the trip! #mubb

The stud of our team is our team.

And that makes it difficult to choose an individual SotG at times.  But it's what I call a "good problem".  :-)
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

That photo with Wojo is good stuff. Love to learn the back story. He should get some sort of recognition at a home game.

I'm sure I'm reading too into it, but along with the Ws, its little things like this that indicate to me that this is really starting to become Wojo's program. Winning cures everything, and Wojo seems a lot more relaxed and I think we're seeing a little more of his personality injected into his interviews, fan interactions, and even some of his in-game reactions. His smirk on the makeup call yesterday vs Sam was priceless.

For me, this was an easy pick for Markus - but with a couple notes:

- Heldt played great, and the TEAM played better with him on the floor than they did with Theo against X.  He wasn't the SOTG, but he did play well, and had a crazy 222 Offensive Rating for the game.  (next highest Joey at 162)

- Joey deserves a ton of recognition for playing well above what one would expect from a freshman, and as generally the team's 3rd best player. His SOTG time will come.

- Sam came in 2nd in my voting, but a hard game to pick, since it was about MU's best TEAM game (minus Theo and Ed) this year.
