Funny stuff.

Sam goes for 21/9/2 with outstanding 'D' - and some guys don't even put him in the top 3? Not even over Heldt who went 2/3/1?

Are these the same people who think Nickelback is the greatest rock 'n roll band ever?

Wojo choked up in the post game interview.

'I asked a Senior with 60 starts to play on the Scout team this week.  I asked my team if any of them could do that.  I couldn't be more proud.'

Matt 'the milkman' Heldt.

Wojo makes the call.

I believe the only thing bothering Morrow today was Jones.  He was destroying Ed and thats why Heldt played.  /quote]

I was wondering if Morrow was hurt again. But Wojo made it clear on post game interview that Morrow sucked ... said he played really poorly and that's why he did not come back in. Plus the great contribution by Matt.

Sam- I thought he hit big shots throughout the game and had 9 needed rebounds.

Markus. Xavier did everything they could to stop him, and it wasn't enough. Played patient and smart (despite 4 turnovers). Put up 31 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Great games by Sam and Joey, as well. The Big 3 came through big time.

Sam and Joey were both studs today.  Matt Heldt is the embodiment of hard work and being a good teammate.

But Markus is the stud of this game.  31 points when Xavier was geared to stop him.  Sam and Joey both got wide open looks as the result of Markus drawing the defense's eyes.

Best example was an side-out in-bound sequence.   Twice in a row,  Markus ran action heading right.  First time, Sam got the ball and was poked in the eye.  Then Wojo called the same look, except Joey came off a screen and drilled a wide open 3.

Meanwhile,  Markus is hitting shots with guys all over him.  That one triple he hit to beat the shot clock late in the 1st half was just filthy.  Markus makes it look routine.  We're spoiled seeing such a good tough shot maker.

1.  Markus. Some of those shots, damn.
2.  Joey.  He looked like he’s been reading Scoop and was trying to get his first SOTG.
3.  Sammy.  He’s so steady.
4.  I’m glad Matty’s still on the team.

Let’s win Wednesday. Go Warriors!

Tough one.

All 3 were great.

Sam had the big buckets to get us the lead.

Joey was nails from deep.

Markus had 31
I did not see the box score but Markus with 31 when they game-planned to stop him, were in his grill all game and were bumping the crap out of him all game without getting called?  Unreal!

My vote: Markus

What I think is so cool is that any of the Big 3 plus a sentimental Matty pick are legit.  Xavier gave us their absolute best shot and played well. We're the hunted.  We found a way to win.

Yep. 10-22 and 1 of his misses was from almost halfcourt at the end of the half and he got fouled on 2 to 3 others. He was excellent and if that game is at home with these officials he would have 40 again

This is an excellent take, eagle.

Markus was truly outstanding today. 4 TOs, but when you have the ball as much as he does and have to create so much for yourself, that's gonna happen.

I obviously would have no problem if either Hauser gets it. That was a huge late 3 that Joey hit. But I'd be choosing the BEast POY ... again.

I can't ignore Markus' 31 points and huge shots down the stretch...or Sam's great overall game and nice stat line...or Matty's huge contributions inside in a game where he had no idea he'd even play. No, I can't ignore any of that.

But for me, the SOTG is Joey. Ice in his veins when Markus and Sam were still struggling to get shots off, and an efficient all-around performance. And it isn't sentimentality. It's going 5-6 outside the arc; it's hitting all of his free throws.

I wouldn't be the least bit upset if the mods go with Markus, Sam or Matty, but my eye test during the game said Joey, Joey, Joey!

Either Markus or Sam. Markus was in control, penetrating, attacking, and creating on every possession.

Sam hit the K.O. 3 off the Heldt board, and he had a huge chase down block down the stretch. Numerous other big shots when the deficit was getting precarious. Some big boards & D too.

Joey was awesome, so mature for a freshman.

Bailey uses his length so well on D, really hope he starts seeing the court more.

Theo was hamstrung by the refs but we were a much better defensive team when he was in.

Heldt delivered the goods down the stretch.

It's close but I think it's:

1) Markus
2) Sam
3) Joey

Shoutout to Matt Heldt

Joey had the clutch shots but Sammy beat him on the boards and in dimes

This was a game that deserves two treads, “stud of the game” and a separate one for “sixth man of the game.” A tough call between three studs who all played great games and three players who came off the bench and each made big contributions that we needed to win the game. Since I can’t vote team or coach, Markus.
