Considering the amount of whistles blown, I was surprised that KSt took as many contested deep 2s as they did.  When they attacked they got the call, they just didn't attack as much as us.

Fantastic D today and the worst ref crew I've seen so far. Big win.

The foul called on Sam's block and then the subsequent technical was some weak weak weak weak sh!t

I thought the worst call was a shooting foul on Chartouny. He did make contact, but after the contact the shooter drove around a screen that stopped Chartouny & pulled up. When the showed the replay, JC was literally moving away from the shooter as he shot.

I was talking with some friends while watching the game from our respective homes, and we started to wonder if there's anything to make of that or was BB doing well enough for Wojo to not want to move away from him?

My guess is Anim was playing so well that he ate up some of Jamal's minutes. No question though that Jamal has slid down the pecking order a bit. We'll need him one of these games, and he'll hit 3 or 4 threes, so I hope they don't bury him.

Agree. 39 minutes for Anim leaves little for JCain.

Was encouraged that the ever deadly second half opposing run was quickly quashed.

The officiating mattered, but Wojo coached this one well. KSU clearly intended to chase Markus & Sam off the three point line early. That's how they had the early lead. We adjusted by attacking inside.

Markus was also smart responding to the high pressure on the dribble handoff play. Defenses play that so far out it seems like we have to start our attack from half court a few times each shot clock. Today a ocuple times he went downhill fast, then as the defender overreacted to catch up he slowed down and got a call when the defender ran into him. Ive been womdering how they would counter that defense and this was a nice response. Hopefully it's not totally reliant on todays quick whistles.

1. Great work, tower, and great work Warrior Eagles!
2. I rarely complain about the refs, and I'm not really "complaining" this time, either, because I think we generally will benefit from a tightly called game because of Markus' ability to draw bumps and hit FTs. But that was a really poorly officiated game. Both fouls/techs situations were awful, especially Sam's.
3. It's games like this that get me thinking Markus really can be an NBA player. Tremendous variety to his scoring game, although he does need to be a better ballhandler and distributor.
4. If I would have told you before the game that we would get 9 points combined from the Hausers, what would you have predicted the outcome would be?
5. Outstanding defensive game by Wojo's boys. Also, very impressed with the rebounding throughout.
6. Glad to be back. I was exiled for a week because the mods didn't like my political signature, which I guess was worse than others' political signatures. Whatevs. I stayed away an extra week because I didn't like the negativity after a great win against a good Louisville team. So I'm tanned, rested and ready, and thrilled to have a wonderful victory to talk about.
7. Bonus: The girls HS team I asst coach is 4-0 and ranked #5 in the Charlotte metro region. Lots of winning! (Except the Panthers, dammit.)

I was a loud angry Marquette fan after the KU game.  I am happy to eat crow about this team recently. This defense is fun. I am excited.

I do want a little less Markus focus given some of his mistakes. But much fewer than the IU and KU games.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

No way that fan was scripted.

He had MU credential laniards on. I thought for sure it was scripted.

He was ten seats away from me, it wasn't scripted. Lots of old guys wearing their pass on a lanyard in those parts.

Gotcha. From the Jumbotron it seemed like an MU employee who was ready to put on a show.

Very, very nice win today. Only gripe from me, the refs were horrible and sapped away the flow of the game. They were bad across the board.

I don't think it was. People behind me said that guy was the husband of their kid's teacher (the were from IL). They were unsure if he even went to MU (she did). I'd say definitely not scripted.

Careful, Sultan. Praising Wojo not allowed. We'd be so much better if we had hired Cuonzo ... so he could have quit after a couple of years and gone to Mizzou.

No way that fan was scripted.

I'm assuming he got both sides of the student sections involved?  That's a natural that should be done anyway, but if the students reacted all the better.  There could be some great back and forth between student section sides if the university would choreograph some of it.  Or get the men's LAX team to help.   ;)

20 turnovers. Not great. Noooot great. I expected worse. And since we had the same against Charleston southern who led some unnamed people aren't actually good, then our offense really improved the TO's.
