All the 13 year olds on my basketball team play, I'll ask them for you.

What systems allow cross play? I'd download to the switch to play at the in laws

My sons play.  A lot.  Like 3 hours a day, a lot.

Not sure I'd want them playing with any of you old coots, though.

Pretty sure it's every PC/console/phone is now fully cross play.  I know at one point PS4 wasn't allowing for crossplay or cross progression, but I think they've now figured that out.  I've definitely crossplayed:

1) Xbox and Switch
2) Xbox and Phone

I play occasionally, is cross play a selectable option or is it just standard now in all of the games(like squad, duos, etc)?

I think it's standard.. Playstation being able to play with others is pretty new - maybe 2 or 3 months.

By default you are put in servers with only players on the same platform you are currently on.  Once you join up with someone on a different platform it will automatically put you on the cross play servers.

FYI joining up with people on different platforms is done by making sure you have their Epic Account friended.

Tangent:  What's the next big game?  I'm gonna guess that Fortnite will flame out in another ~12 months.  What's next?

And/or - I like the social aspect of Fortnite for the kids.   What's another big headset/group game for Xbox or PC?

I heard the other day that Blizz/Act is launching a new WoW game in the style of Pokémon Go.

Mixing two of the most successful MMOG concepts seems like it's either going to be wildly successful or a massive fail.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

So...is that a video game that takes two weeks to finish?

You'd think there'd be a stellar marketing opportunity in there somewhere.

It's been awhile since there was any online gaming at my house but I still have my Xbox360 and COD Modern Warfare. Is that even supported anymore? I could be tempted to renew the Xbox Live...

Warzone is HARD but enjoyable. Certainly worth the $free.99

I would suggest Game Pass to anyone with an Xbox. Especially if you're into trying games you wouldn't otherwise pick up while you have the extra time at home. Netflix for Xbox with a library of 100+ games is the best way to describe it. One note: you don't stream the game - you must download the entire game so hard drive space can become an issue if you don't commit to only a few games at a time.

Hey has anyone here started Animal Crossing? If so, what do you think? Notes for someone that hadn't played any of the earlier games are particulalry appreciated.

I've got a switch and am deciding which game I should use for my hour or so per evening of unwinding time.  In normal times, I'd be all about competitive mulitiplayer games online, but I need to look for something that brings me down a notch with a beer or two.  I'm pretty deep into Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey, but am looking for something a little different.  Would you go with Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, for example?
