Marquette has offered Kyle Rowley from Lake Forest Academy. I speak to Rowley frequently, and he has been waiting on this offer for the last month. He is pretty high on marquette, and has them up there with Georgetown, Kansas, Washington State, Northwestern, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wisconsin as his leaders.

Hmm, we get killed down low, our bigs have a terrible game, and we offer a 7' Jr.   Coincidence?    I was wondering why we hadn't offered this kid earlier.   If Wisconsin wants him, he may be too slow, though.  ;D   I hope we get him.

I wonder if he received the offer at halftime.  :-\

nyg

Sounds like another project.  No ranking from Rivals and Scout has him a 2 star.  How can he have 7 favorites/leaders?  Great size though. Even if he is a probable "one and out", maybe Nick Williams can have a long talk with his teamate DeMarcus Cousins.  Now that would be nice.

I think we already had the discussion on Cousins when he played at the Al a couple weeks back.  He's probably staying close to home, and with his attitude we don't mind keeping him there.

This has to be a first.  In the space of 25 words a potential recruit is called both a 'project' and a "probable 'one and out'" player.

Not to speak for nyg, but I think he was referencing two different recruits.  "Project" is Rowley.  "One and out" is Cousins.  Now that is settled, can someone answer how Rowley lost two inches in two posts?  One service has him at 7'...the next at 6"10".  Center or PF?

Let wisky take him - there are more smalls to be had
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Cousins may be open to moving further than you think.  He moved to LeFlore's district this year to play with Nick Williams after Nick had lost most of his teammates from last year's State Championship team.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

lets not kid ourselves. Cousins is not coming to MU period.

Rowley is a legit 7-0 280. Google his name... you can find a number of stories on his summer playing with Trinidad and Tabago's junior national team.

Seeing the movement of colleges to tapping oversea talent, Rowley's offer falls into line with the history of Marquette's players: Cubillan, Nnamaka, Abraham...

Let's hope he doesn't fall into the other foreign "talent" category: Joseph, Shaw...

Experience from playing on any national team is highly desired as it means the players get more international experience, especially with the best from other countries.

Let's hope for Butch Lee.  Wasn't Ooze contemplating the Senegal National Team?

Gonzaga did well with Turiaf who was from the Caribbean so let's hope that mojo can work for us.

🏀

He plays for Full Package, the same organization that sent three great recruits Terri Mitchell's way.

It is important to have depth in the paint, we just havent had that for years, if he is the project type redshirt him a year if his upside is good, that model has worked for others.

prepbullseye

Unless Kyle Rowley has grown 2 inches since the end of last October when we last saw him, he is NOT 7'0, and you can take that to the bank!  With that being said, he is still a big boy.  We plan on seeing him again toward the end of this month when Lake Forest Academy plays Zion-Benton, so we will report back then.

shaquilvaine

congrats on your appearance in SI.  Thanks for the info on Kyle and I enjoy reading your site.
