I recall Wade saying he didn't want to coach. I can't find it now, but thought he said he wasn't interested.

Wade might have his eye on ownership - if not of part of an NBA team than maybe some other business in some other industry.

According to Basketball Reference, he has made almost $200 million during his playing career. And that doesn't count his endorsements. Even if 60% of that went to taxes, agents and "stuff," if he invested the other $80-100 million even semi-wisely during what has been a 10-year bull run he'd have a heck of a lot of money available for all sorts of ventures.

I'd rather be a managing partner (like MJ) than a coach any day.

During TBT Travis said that when he came to Marquette to join the coaching staff he was very burnt out as a player.  After three years of "rest", when the offer presented to play again, he jumped at it.  Now he wants to play for as long as he can.  I don't recall him saying anything about not wanting to coach.  Wouldn't surprise me to see him come back once he's done playing.

He said so during an interview after one of the TBT games.  He said the university means so much to his family (wife went there as well) and that he sees himself involved at the university in some capacity when he finally does hang them up.

If we're making the alumni call, it would be Brian Wardle all day. Built a consistent winning program at Green Bay & entering year 4 has Bradley looking like they are ready to carve out a place in the upper echelon of the MVC. Proven winning coach that knows the Midwest & views Marquette as a destination job.

Time flies.    And Wardle is ahead of Diener on the potential HC-who-is-an-alum-and-theoretically-will-be-at-MU-until-fired list.

TD can still play, as evidenced by his performance in TBT and a roster spot in a top 5 league in Europe.  I would imagine he could probably play till he's 40 in some capacity if he wanted, give his game and style of play.
