If this thread isn't about the Golden Chicken on 25th and Wisconsin, I don't know what you are talking about.

There is more than one location...and they are fantastic!  I think they used to be more widespread in the Milwaukee area about 30 years ago.

I'm good with the name. Golden Eagles are one of the most badarse animals on the planet....which is why Chapman is so right. Ditch the cartoon and get a live mascot. Play up the badarsery

Have a badger in the upper deck that the eagle can grab and throw down to the floor to kill, just like a mountain goat.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Indeed, I tried to google an image of the store and found it .. kinda looks like it is/was a chain, maybe even outside of WI.

My retirement plan is to open a White Castle, but if I can't get a license for that, hello Golden Chicken.

Yeah, but if the golden eagle does this to a toddler instead, people might complain.

This is why we can't have nice things.
Have some patience, FFS.

Is the kid wearing a Bucky shirt? I'd probably be ok with that.

Running a restaurant is kind of the exact opposite of retirement
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Sure, if you were a teacher or librarian.  If you were an investment banker or pit trader, different story.

Retirement is relative.  I'm sure to most Millenials, "retirement" is eating avocados and drinking Modelo on the beach every day once you turn 45.  For others, it might be not having to risk getting caught in gang crossfire walking to the bus stop anymore.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

You can own a restaurant and not actually run it.  You just have to hire a great manager that you trust.

That way all you do is look at the financials once a month, and drop in once in awhile with your friends to give them free drinks.

I hear the Coke at White Castle is fantastic.

But the lemonade at Golden Chicken is impossible to beat.

Honestly who cares. Mascots are dumb. A logo graphic of nickname is fine but actual costumed mascots add zero value to the game day experience.

Next time you see someone being accosted by a mascot, that's Coleman.

God knows I hate the ridiculous nickname, but saying mascots add nothing to the game day experience is moronic.

My kids love the Golden Eagle and, as a result, have been horse whipped on several occasions

Tell your kids to watch the game! They can play with fluffy animals at home

A lot of stupid stuff said on here, but this is near the top.  Either you do not have a 2-5 year old who has the attention span of about 3 possessions, or you are so old you forgot what it was like having kids that young.  Either way telling them to sit down and watch a full game is as hard as having an online message board that is completely rational all the time.

I wrote this tongue in cheek. I know how kids work. Partially why I don't have one yet.

This reminds me of a "cartoon" that Georgetown played on the jumbotron at halftime of a GU v. MU game back in '06 or '07 - it started with a golden eagle flying majestically through the sky, but ended with a cartoon Jack the Bulldog popping out of the bottom of the screen, shotgun in hand, to blast the eagle out of the sky, Duck Hunt-style.

Pretty sure that wouldn't make it on the jumbotron today, and honestly couldn't believe they allowed it at all.

horrible ... and disgusting that the chicken hawk claims 77 as its own. BS, give it 94. Also, instead of the 'AL' emblem, it should be adorned with "DiUlio"
