Hiring agent as well.  Not a surprise, but official now.

Glad he won't be around to torment us anymore.  Great college player, not sure how well he'll transition to NBA.

Good for Jalen Brunson, nothing left for him to prove in college.  I expect him to have a long NBA career, not as a star, but he will make any team better.  Here's to hoping Dante Divincenzo declres as well!

And takes Spellman with him!

Phenomenal college player. Two NCAA titles, a #1 overall seed, and NPOY. All while graduating in three years. I'll miss watching him at this level, but it certainly makes things easier on us and the rest of the league.

GooooMarquette

Great college career, with a chance for a solid pro career as well.

Bigger DJ Augustin...though Brunson's not going in the top 10.

I like the smaller Draymond Green comparison.

And I've made the Mark Jackson comparison many times.

Hell of a college player, and I think he'll be one of those late-first or second-round guys who has a long, long NBA career.

The thing is, I don't think Green and Brunson are remotely comparable.  Body type yes, but their games aren't very similar at all.

Jackson I get though.

I'd be shocked if the Spurs didn't take him if he's around that long. He'd thrive with a roster like the T-Wolves too. I like his prospects, and the Mark Jackson comparison is a good one.

Nothing but respect.   Nothing left to accomplish at the college level.  Good luck, young man.

Don't like the Draymond comparison.  A huge part of his game is being 6-7, able to rebound against 4s and 5s, and defending all 5 positions.

Mark Jackson is better but I have not seen enough of Brunson to know if he has everything Jackson had. Post passing, yes. Jump hook over the defender? Head and shoulder fakes while dribbling (shimmy)? Tear drop in the lane? Jackson had all of those.

At worst, I see a clone of his dad Rick. 10+ year NBA backup.  If he's Andre Miller with a jump shot, giddy up!

Edit: Chi-town came up with the Andre Miller comparison.  I didn't intend to pass it off as my own.  My apologies.

I think Spellman is comparable to Draymond Green.  Don't see the comparison with Brunson

The Green-Brunson comparison is just about their ability to post up despite not being big men and to pass from the post. I agree it's a stretch, but I still like it.

Brunson shoots better than Jackson did but yeah, Jackson had an outstanding, long career.

Andre Miller with a jump shot - outstanding stuff.

A little scary to me that if Nova's big three all went NBA, they would still have 3 of the top 11 Big East players based on my www.valueaddbasketball.com projections. Mikal Bridges was even better than Brunson in Value Add this year, and he is the lottery pick of that group, but happy Brunson went out on top and won't beat us anymore!  I've updated the google sheet https://tinyurl.com/y9mr9uu4 to change him from "Villanova/could go NBA" to "gone," but I only update www.valueaddbasketball.com every few days, so he still shows up as Villanova there

And hey, if they all three leave then Sam Hauser is the third best player in the Big East and Howard is seventh - and if we somehow get Cremo we would have three of the top 11 as well, for more of a fair fight.

I'm guessing Butler is counting on Jordan Tucker to add more than 0.7 to the team when he's available in December.

After transferring from Duke, I think he's the highest ranked recruit to ever play at Butler.

Even if Villanova were to lose all four of their best players, they would reload pretty quickly. As long as they don't lose their HC, they aren't going downhill.

Yep, great example of a team going from pretty good basketball school to blue blood because their head coach stuck around. The infrastructure was in place as it is at MU ... here's to hoping Wojo can be that coach.

Agree about Draymond - don't see any comp. Green is under 6'6" though, which makes his accomplishments even more compelling.

The last couple of years, we have usually played Nova closer than expected even though the talent and experience gap has been significant. Maybe it's a style of play or matchup thing, but we may get another win or two if that gap closes a bit.
