Not to get off track (too late), but I think it's perfectly fair to not sweep under the rug the affiliations between such institutions and the convicted rapists' and child molesters' who committed their acts under the umbrella of protections offered by said institutions.   It doesn't have to be funny, but keeping up with history is what makes us stronger as  a society.
