Saw that.  Will be interesting to see where he lands.  Surprised he is OK taking a year off.

Going after the hardship waiver

Uconn probably the front runners
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Reading the story that makes more sense. UConn is an hour away, Seton Hall, St. John's, Providence, Rhode Island, and Boston College are all within two hours as well. His presence could transform any of those programs, turn them into top contenders.

Of course I remember when Charlie Moore transferred from Cal last season in order to be near his sick father IIRC. He's from Chicago and ended up at Kansas....technically closer but still a plane ride away.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

The local Connecticut media is reporting he is transferring to UConn.

Ponds returning to St John's per Rothstein.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Juwan Morgan returning to Indiana. Makes the Hooisers one of the toughest teams we will see this season.

If they get Heron (national media guys seem to think its them or UConn)....and he gets the hardship wavier....then forget everything I said about Saint John's.

The portal is NOT closed.

Shamorie Ponds will return to St John's for his junior season, per Jon Rothstein. My guess is he'll be Big East preseason Player of the Year.

Pakuni

Not exactly a shock, but Max Strus will return to DePaul.

Not Big East, but Ethan Happ is returning to Wisconsin, per Gery Woelful.

Well, a few tweets before than one he said that it would be Houston and the Celtics in the NBA Finals.
I mean, OK, maybe he's secretly a serial killer who's pulled the wool over our eyes with his good deeds and smooth jumper - Pakuni (on Markus Howard)

I hadn't seen Spellman projected as a 1st rounder in a lot of mocks.  Perhaps I'm wrong but that seems like a questionable decision.

BTN still listing Happ as undecided, per their twitter account just after 3 pm central time.

No one else has confirmed.  Woeful being cited in every report.

Hmm...

over the previous two seasons, a total of 47 players stayed in the NBA draft after NOT being invited to the NBA combine.

None of the 47 were drafted.

Your move Ethan Happ.

He had to have good input from the people that matta. I think a team will take him.

This is true, but that still seems crazy to me. Spellman looks like an NBA player to me. If I was a GM I'd spend a late first round pick on him....of course this might mean that its a good thing that I'm not a GM

Don't sell yourself short! All four nova guys are projected first rounders for the most part. Whether Omari should have stayed or not is debatable but he is definitely a first round talent and worth a flyer in the late first. Crazy high upside as a small ball 5 in the league.
