I don't know how injures like that heal, if we only needed him for press breaks at the end of games I figured it was worth asking

They're not going to burn a year of Joey for a generally meaningless NIT game.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I thought they didn't think he was going to be here all four years anyways? I'm not seriously asking this, just wondering if there was some odd chance that'd happen.
Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

No.  They'll play Cam long before they play Joey.

We stunk last night, fortunately Harvard[unlike DePaul] was stunkier. Refs helped a smidge.
Totally agree with Tower's analysis

1.  Sloppy.    So so so so sloppy.
2.  Rowsey played like he was still not over crying from last week.  So bad.
3.  Sam's hip is so sore.   If the hip surgery is what it is reputed to be, it is amazing he is out there.
4.  Cain was so active defensively.    And so weak with the ball.   Envisioning him 20 lbs stronger.
5.   The announcers  sure played up the freshman angle.
6.  And the Duke point guards as coaches.
7.  Maybe there is something to that shooting background thing.    MU missed so many shots they usually make.
8.  MU's defense was the best it has been in a long time.    Disrupted passing lanes.    Deflections, steals, turnovers, charges.
9.  MU won't beat Oregon if neither Sam nor Jamal plays.     And Marquette will lose big.
10.  Fun stat.    Against teams that are not 1 or 2 seeds in the NCAA tournament, MU is 20-7.     Against teams that are not 1-2 seeds in the NCAA tournament, MU is 20-7.   20-6 against all teams that aren't 1-2 seeds.     0-6 against Villanova, Xavier, Purdue.   Throw in the 4 seed Wichita State.
11. Need a transfer PG for next year.   Could have used one this year.

I'm all in on Custer. Instead of the ice cream truck, Wojo needs to take him to Gilles Frozen Custard. Custard for Custer. Gotta customize the pitch.

Silkk the Shaka

If Harvard shoots their normal FT%, they hit 13 instead of 9.

If MU shoots normal %, we hit 15 instead of 18.

7 point swing. Game goes to OT with no absolutely momentum on MU's side.

It's selfish of Joey to sit out the NIT.  A true teammate would be out there.

Does no one else realize this is really obvious teal implied because of all the talk about Metu for USC sitting out?

I would say Adrian's but spending a day in Burlington WI isn't the best recruiting tactic.

So if 7 shots ended up differently the game would have been tied? Seems like a lot of changes no?

And if we hit our normal % from 2 we win by a bazillion. And if we hit our normal volume of 3 we win by a bazillion. If we didn't let them get so many offensive boards we win by a bazillion. If we didn't turn it over 18 times we win by a bazillion. If we didn't let them hit their season average in FG% and 3P% we win by a bazillion.

FT% was like 17th or 18th on the list of reasons why we won

Early in the game, Harvard ran a pick and roll.   Rowsey was the the weak side wing defender sliding down to try to contest the big who was receiving a lob pass from the PG.    Lay up.    The past.

Later, same play, multiple times, and it was Cain as the weak side wing defender sliding down and breaking up that lob pass.    The future.

Any idea why they call them "free" throws?  Unlike 2pt FG attempts and 3pt FG attempts, the shooter of a free throw is standing still.  From 15 feet.  Every time.  Easily practiced.  Easily perfected.  Team FT shooting percentage is always higher than is a teams FG and 3 pt FG shooting percentage.

To miss your freebies, is giving away easily earned points.

This continues to be the absolute dumbest talking point on this board.

Did anyone else notice that after Greg tweaked his ankle he kept looking towards the bench, expecting/hoping for a sub, and Wojo just stared back?

Couldn't tell whether the look meant was "You can do this" or "I got nothing".
Have some patience, FFS.

It was either going to be Harry or Theo.   Cowboy up, young man.

The fact that they are called "free" throws is part of the problem IMHO. Despite them being "free" the Division 1 average for the past 15 years is around 69%. So maybe not as easy to perfect as many seem to think. We've been fortunate during that time as we have been above average FT shooters in all but 2 seasons. One of TCs years and Wojos first year IIRC

If sam is down for the year and Jamal is injured do we turn to Joey if Sacar has fouled out?
No, it would be Ike.  I can tell, Wojo is a FIFO kind of guy.
