Okay...here we go. It's not the tournament we wanted, but it's the tournament we're going to get. After missing with teams that might have been fun to see more of in 2014 and 2016, I'm glad this young team will get some more elimination game experience. Here's what we know:

Top Seeds: Notre Dame, Baylor, St. Mary's, USC

Already in: Florida Gulf Coast, Northern Kentucky, Rider, UNC-Asheville, Wagner, Middle Tennessee State, UC Davis, Vermont, Louisiana-Lafayette, Hampton, Southeastern Louisiana, Harvard

My personal hope is to host UNC-Asheville in the first round. The Andrew Rowsey bowl. The last NIT Bracketology I saw had us against Wagner in the first round. Will be hosting games at the Al. My guess is we are the 2-seed in Notre Dame's region.

We break the Scoop clicks record yet?

I predicted on Thursday that Harvard would lose in the Ivy tournament and they'd be our opponent.  First half of the prophecy fulfilled.  Let's go!

Can't believe dormers and Baylor got the 1s. Run the tables anyways

The Harvard of Milwaukee against the Harvard of Boston.  I like it.

LOL!

I know I should be used to it but the vitriol of some posters after getting turned down for the NCAA is just #sad. So I appreciate a little humor creeping back into the Board.

Home game?

Yes. Will see what the date is. Tuesday or Wednesday.

nyg

I was right about the NIT selection hours ago.  ND #1, MU#2 potential match, that would be fun.
Problem is Oregon, but it would be a home game.

Harvard, then Oregon at home, then ND. Pretty good.

Cream Biggums

I grew up playing against Harvard starter Corey Johnson every year growing up, was on my Canadian Rep(Canadian AAU) team's rival and my high school team's rival school. His team usually got the better of mine, hopefully Marquette can get one back for me

I've been watching the NIT Selection Show for years. Year's past when the bracket came out. Times and network was with it.

Another 1-seed falls as Western Kentucky knocked off USC. Here's the matchups to get to MSG:

4-Penn State at 2-Marquette
4-Mississippi State at 2-Louisville

4-Western Kentucky at 2-Oklahoma State
2-Utah at 1-Saint Mary's

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

The Lens

If we can beat Penn State, playing Louisville at MSG in the semi's would be amazing.

And if we can survive that my preferences for finalists would rank like so:

1) St. Mary's
2) Utah
3) Oklahoma State

USC couldn't have cared less about the NIT and it showed. Sleptwalked through that UNC-Asheville game and were frankly very lucky to win in double OT and then coasted to a loss last night. Should have just turned it down after Metu decided to sit out
